Powai Police of Mayanagari Mumbai, while carrying out a major operation, has arrested a vicious criminal who stole gas cylinder and motorcycle. This accused was active in various areas of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. In this major action, the police have recovered 45 gas cylinders and 3 stolen motorcycles from the accused and exposed a big nexus.

Due to the ongoing conflict in the Gulf countries, there is already an atmosphere of anxiety and confusion among the common citizens regarding the supply of gas cylinders. Meanwhile, the incident of cylinder theft in Powai area alerted the police. According to the police, the accused first stole a Burgman scooter from Powai police station area and then used the same to steal two gas cylinders from the area.

Caught in Thane through CCTV and technical investigation

After receiving the complaint of theft of gas cylinder and vehicle, Powai police immediately registered the case and started its investigation. The investigation team examined the CCTV footage of the incident site and surrounding areas. Based on technical surveillance and information from informers, the police cordoned off the Vartak Nagar area of ​​Thane and successfully detained the accused. The arrested accused has been identified as 45-year-old Raj Chandrakant Kamble.

More than 10 cases are already registered against the accused

After strict interrogation and tracking of the accused, Powai police recovered a total of 45 gas cylinders and 3 stolen motorcycles from him. All of them were crossed from different areas of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. As per police records, Raj Kamble is a habitual criminal and already has more than 10 criminal cases registered against him in various police stations of Mumbai city.

At present, Powai police has taken the accused on remand and is conducting further thorough investigation. The police is trying to find out whether any other accomplice was helping him in the theft on such a large scale and at which places he used to sell the stolen cylinders.
