Black color around the neck is a very normal problem. The blackness of the neck or the surrounding skinka in the dark color can sometimes be a sign of some changes happening in the body. If black stains or circles are being made on your neck, do not ignore it. This can be a sign of any health related problem happening inside the body, which is very important to identify and treat it in time.

Many people often do not pay attention to the neck in maintaining the beauty of the face. At the same time, the skin of the neck is more sensitive than the face and it can easily accumulate dust, sweat and dirt on it, which can change the skin. Sometimes, this change is only visible from outside and can be cured by the right measures in time, but sometimes it can also be a sign of a major change happening within the body. There can be many reasons for blackness in the neck. Some of these reasons are related to our lifestyle, while some may be related to serious health problems. So let’s know which disease can be the cause of a black circle around the neck.
Due to blackness in the neck

The skin of the neck is very sensitive and is different from the facial skin. Therefore, despite paying attention to the skin of the face, the skin of the neck is ignored. Due to this, dirt, sweat and dust accumulate on the neck, which can cause blackness. Wrong food and not cares for the right skin can also cause blackness of the neck. Unhealthy food, especially junk food and excess sugar, can put negative impact on skin health. Many times the cause of blackness of the neck can be hormonal imbalance in the body. Especially in women, insulin levels can increase in a state like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Apart from this, people who are affected by diabetes, their blood sugar levels are high, and this may turn black color black. Apart from this, high insulin levels can also cause skin blackness. Kushing syndrome is a condition in which the level of cortisol hormone in the body increases more. This condition can be a sign of a serious illness, and due to this, blackness can be seen on the neck.

Signs of diseases related to blackness in the neck

1. Imbalance of blood sugar and insulin – A black circle around the neck may indicate that you may have problems like diabetes or insulin resistance.

2. Hormonal Changes – Problems like PCOS or other hormonal imbalances can cause blackness of the neck.

3. Kushing Syndrome – If the level of cortisol hormone is increasing in your body, then it can also cause blackness on the neck.

4. Aknthosis Significance – It causes blackness to the neck due to the black layer of the skin, and it can be caused by obesity, diabetes or hormonal imbalance.

5. Excess weight – Obesity is a major cause of neck blackness, so it is necessary to control weight. Balance food and regular exercise can be reduced to weight.

If you get periods before the scheduled time every month and this series is going on more than a month, then do not take it lightly at all. Usually the menstrual cycle of women (periods cycle) is 21 to 35 days. If your periods are coming again and again before every 21 days, then it is called Polyimenoria. This can be a sign of an internal health problem.

Why do periods come again and again?

Periods can be quickly coming due to many reasons. Some reasons are normal, but some point to serious diseases.

Hormonal imbalance

Estrogen and Progesterone: These are two main hormones, which control periods. If there is disturbance in them, then the timing of periods may deteriorate.

Polycystic ovary syndrome: It is a common hormonal problem of nowadays, in which small lumps (cysts) are formed in ovulation. This makes the periods irregular and can also come quickly.

Thyroid problem: The imbalance of thyroid hormone also affects periods. If the thyroid is not functioning properly, the periods can be quick and messed up.

Stress and lifestyle

Mental and physical stress: Taking too much stress affects hormones, so that periods can come ahead of time.

Weight changing: Sudden weight gain or decrease can also spoil the balance of hormones, causing the cycle of periods to deteriorate.

More workout: Very high and difficult exercises can also irregular periods.

Problems of uterus (uterus)

Uterine fibroids (lumps): These are the lumps without cancer in the uterus, which can irregular periods and cause more bleeding.

Polyps: Small, cancerous growth on the inner layer of the uterus can also cause frequent bleeding or periods.

Infection (infection)

Pelvic inflammatory disease: It is an infection of reproductive organs, causing irregular bleeding and frequent periods.

sexually transmitted infection: Some sexually transmitted diseases can also cause irregular bleeding.

Contraceptive methods

Bettering pills: Some types of birth control pills or emergency contraception can disturb your periods cycle for some time.

Around menopause (perimenopause): A few years before menopause (periods closure), women’s hormone levels begin to fluctuate. During this time the cycle of periods can be small or irregular.

When to be careful and see a doctor?

If you are continuously coming from periods before a month or seeing some other symptoms with it, then see a doctor immediately.

To have too much bleeding or walking bleeding for more days.

Excessive pain with periods.

Dizziness, weakness or too much fatigue feeling (symptoms of anemia).

Rapid change in weight.

Symptoms of hormonal changes such as swelling in the neck or unwanted hair on the face.

If you feel that you can become pregnant and still bleeding is happening.

Taking advice from a doctor in time will be able to know the right reason and if needed, the right treatment will be started, which can avoid any serious illness. Do not be negligent about your health.

For women, menstruation is a natural and very important physical process, which shows their reproductive health. In general, the menstrual cycle is between 21 to 35 days, but sometimes this cycle becomes irregular. There is a common belief that delay in menstruation means pregnancy, but many research has revealed that there can be many other reasons behind it. Let’s know about those eighteen reasons, which are responsible for the delay in menstruation.

What does delay in menstruation mean?

The beginning of the menstrual cycle is considered from day one to the first day of the next cycle. In general, this period is of 28 days, but a cycle of 21 to 38 days is also considered normal. If the menstrual period comes from the normal cycle 7 days or more or does not come for more than 6 weeks, then it is considered a delay or missed period. If this condition persists repeatedly or persisted for a long time, it can be a sign of Amenoria (closure of menstruation). For this, it is necessary to contact a doctor.

Periods are late due to stress

Stress directly affects our hormonal balance. According to a study published by the National Institute of Health (NIH) in 2024, more stress obstructs the production of gonadotropin-immunity hormone (GNRH), which controls ovulation and menstrual cycle. Stress increases the level of cortisol hormones, which affects production of hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. This condition can cause delay or irregularity in menstruation.

Polycystic ovary syndrome also causes problems

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a normal hormonal disorder, which affects 10–20% of women in India. This condition is caused by high production of male hormones, which can lead to cysts in the ovaries. These cysts obstruct ovulation, due to which the menstrual period becomes irregular or comes late. According to a study published in the Indian Journal of Endocrinology in 2024, women with PCOS delay menstruation and metabolic problems such as obesity and diabetes are also common.

Thyroid also disturbs disabilities

Thyroid gland controls the metabolic activities of the body and can affect menstruation from its imbalance (hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism). Hypothyroidism (low active thyroid) can cause menstruation and heavy bleeding, while hyperthyroidism (more active thyroid) can cause menstruation quickly or irregular. A survey by Max Healthcare in 2024 found that thyroid imbalance in 15% of women was the main reason for delay in menstruation.

Sudden change in weight

Rapid changes in weight can also affect the menstrual cycle. Actually, less than five percent weight loss within 6 months can cause delay in menstruation. Obesity also increases estrogen levels, which can disrupt ovulation. Apart from this, due to malnutrition or excess exercise like athletes, the production of estrogen in the body can also be reduced, due to which menstruation becomes irregular.

Hormonal contraception also gives problems

Hormonal birth control pills, patch or injection can affect the menstrual cycle. Estrogen and progestin hormones present in them prevent ovulation, which can cause delay or irregularity in menstruation. When a woman starts or stops birth control pills, the body takes time to adapt to hormonal levels, due to which menstruation can be delayed.

Prolactin hormone

The prolactin hormone emanating from the pituitary gland is responsible for breastfeeding and milk production. The higher level of prolactin can cause delay in menstruation. This condition is usually seen in breastfeeding mothers or pituitary gland due to tumor (prolactinoma). This hormone can suppress ovulation, which delays menstruation.

Menopause or perimeneopose

Menopause usually occurs at the age of 45–55 years. This is the condition of menstruation permanent closure. Earlier phase is perimenopause, which can cause irregularity and delay in menstruation due to hormonal fluctuations. In India, 10% of women may start menopause before 40 years (initial menopause), due to which delay or irregularity in menstruation is common.

Chronic diseases and medicines

Diabetes, cellular diseases, and other chronic diseases can spoil hormonal balance, which can delay menstruation. In addition, some medicines such as antidepressant, steroids, and chemotherapy drugs can also affect the menstrual cycle. According to a research published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine in 2023, menstrual irregularity was seen in 20% of women suffering from diabetes.
