UP Polytechnic Exam 2026: A big update has come out for lakhs of students preparing to take admission in polytechnic courses in Uttar Pradesh. Joint Entrance Examination Council Uttar Pradesh i.e. JEECUP has released the new schedule of UP Polytechnic Entrance Exam 2026. After this announcement, the enthusiasm has increased among those students who were waiting for the exam dates for a long time and were continuously preparing. This time the examination will be conducted completely in computer based i.e. CBT mode. The Council has made it clear that the examination will be conducted at different centers across the state on fixed dates. In such a situation, the candidates will now have to do their preparation according to the new exam dates.

Now when will UP Polytechnic entrance exam be held?

Earlier UPJEE-P 2026 exam was to be conducted between 15 May to 22 May 2026, but now its dates have been changed. According to the new schedule, the examination will now be held between June 2 and June 9, 2026. The council says that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the demands and interests of the students, so that all the candidates can get full time for preparation.

How did the schedule change due to extension of last date of application?

JEECUP had earlier extended the last date of online application to 11 May 2026. A large number of students had demanded additional time for application. For this reason, it was decided to extend the examination schedule so that the students can get a chance for better preparation after the completion of the application process.

Exams will be held at 175 examination centers

UP Polytechnic Entrance Exam 2026 will be conducted at about 175 examination centers set up in all the districts of the state. Council Secretary Sanjeev Kumar Singh said that all necessary preparations have been completed for transparent and smooth conduct of the examination. This time the examination will be conducted completely online i.e. in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, so that the examination process can be made more secure and systematic.

The examination will be conducted in three shifts

JEECUP exam 2026 will be conducted daily in three different shifts. The first shift will start from 8 am. Information related to examination center and shift will be given to the candidates in the admit card. Therefore, students have been advised to read all the guidelines carefully before the examination.

What will be the exam pattern?

JEECUP exam will be conducted in CBT mode, in which a total of 100 multiple choice questions will be asked. The total duration of the exam will be 150 minutes. You will get 4 marks for every correct answer. There will be negative marking for wrong answers and the exam will be of total 400 marks. Students of engineering group will be asked questions from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, while questions from other groups will include English, Reasoning and General Knowledge.

Mock test facility also started

To help students understand the online exam pattern and prepare better, a mock test link has also been released on the official website of JEECUP. Candidates can practice online multiple times, which will give them experience of CBT exam and will also help in time management. This year more than 4.25 lakh candidates have applied for UP Polytechnic Entrance Exam 2026. In view of such a large number, the Council has appealed to the students to keep an eye on the official website continuously.

When will the admit cards be released?

According to the council, the admit cards of the examination will be released soon on the official portal. Candidates will be able to download the admit card with the help of their login credentials. The exam centre, exam date, time and important guidelines will be given in the admit card. In such a situation, candidates have been advised to keep checking the website regularly.
