Apple is allegedly working on the most slim iPhone iPhone 17 Air ever. The recent report suggested that the company is also working on making it the first portless iPhone. It is being told that the iPhone manufacturer took this decision because he feared removing the USB-C port could cause a dispute with the European Union. However, it turns out that removing the USB-C port completely for a portless phone will be really completely legal. Let us know about it in detail.

For the European Union Act, especially for Common Charger Directive Use, Apple had to remove its own lightening port and install USB-C port. Now all the new iPhones in the market are coming with this port. Non-essential electrical waste was being collected due to different charging ports on different smartphones and consumer electronics devices. Due to this, users needed several charger for different devices. Therefore, the use of a common charging port was made mandatory for all devices sold in the European Union.

When the law was first proposed, the most commonly used port was MicroUSB, so it would have been standard. The USB-C had become a new standard by the law, so it became the port included in the law. Apple had already used USB-C charging for MAC and iPad and later it was also used for new iPhones, but Lightning Port was being used in the old model. According to the law, it was also necessary for the iPhone to switch to USB-C.

Apple’s new portless iPhone

Long was getting suggestions that Apple would have removed wired charging from one or more iPhone models at any time. Now Mark Gurman of Bloomberg said that the company considered doing so for the iPhone 17 Air. In the Common Charger Directive, only it has been said that if a device has a wired charging port then it should be USB-C.<!--
