Complaint Against e-Commerce Platforms: The business of e-commerce companies becoming increasingly popular in the country is continuously increasing, but with this questions are also being raised about the functioning of these platforms. There have been many such cases in recent months, in which additional fees are being charged from customers for choosing the Cash on Delivery (COD) option. Now the government has taken a tough stand on this and has intensified the investigation against such companies.

E-platforms came under government target

The Department of Consumer Affairs is checking the e-commerce platforms that charge additional charge on the option of cash payment from customers. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi recently called such cases “dark patterns” in a tweet – that is, misleading strategies that consumers are misled and made additional payment.

Joshi said that the government will take strict steps to protect the rights of consumers and make necessary improvements to increase transparency in the e-commerce sector.

“Handling Charge” being charged on cash on delivery

The controversy came to light when many consumers shared screenshots on social media, in which some companies charged additional fees in the name of “payment handling charge”. Many users on the X (X) platform also expressed displeasure over “Rain Fee” and other additional charges on apps like Zomato, Swiggy and Jepto.

After these complaints, the government is now in action mode on this issue. Joshi on Friday tweeted that these cases would be investigated in depth and strict action will be taken against the companies who are violating the rights of consumers.

Government in preparation for new law

The government has already warned e-commerce companies not to treat consumers inappropriate. Along with this, preparations are also underway to introduce new laws to stop activities like “dark patterns” and additional fee recovery.

The government’s goal is to ensure that consumers get complete transparency during purchases and they are not misled by hidden charges or misleading options in any way. Overall, the government is strictly expected on e-commerce companies that online shopping can be made more transparent and consumer-interest in the coming days.

India has taken a major step towards its net-geir emission goal for 2070 with the introduction of the first trial of the hydrogen based heavy-duty truck. Ministry of Road Transport and Highways announced that Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Prahlad Joshi in New Delhi on Tuesday Tata motors The trial organized by the green signal.

Speaking at the event, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari described the hydrogen, which has the ability to change the transport sector of India by cutting emissions and promoting self -reliance in energy. He said that “This initiative will air the change towards strong mobility in heavy-duty trucking and will help us reduce carbon in future. I appreciate Tata Motors for this move for green and smart transport.”

Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi emphasized the role of hydrogen in change in zero-carbon economy of India. “The beginning of this trial is an important step in showing the capacity of Green Hydrogen to disarray the transport sector of India. This initiative as a National Green Hydrogen Mission shows our commitment to innovation, freedom in energy and our commitment to global climate. Joshi said” I appreciate Tata Motors to pursue this effort ”

This trial is similar to India’s large green energy purposes, which is an important step towards long -distance cargo transport. Tata Motors won the tender for this project, which has been funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The trial aims to check their use in the real world by preparing the infrastructure required for large use of hydrogen -powered trucks.

The trial phase will run for 24 months, with 16 hydrogen based trucks with several configurations and payload capacity. These trucks equipped with hydrogen internal combustion engine (H2-As) and Pool Sale (H2-Fcev) technology will be tested on the main route including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Surat, Vadodara, Jamshedpur and Kalingnagar.
