Prateek Yadav Cause Of Death: Prateek Yadav, son of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, died in Lucknow on Wednesday morning, 13 May 2026. He was 38 years old. The family members took him to the Civil Hospital at around 6:15 in the morning, where doctors declared him dead. His wife and BJP leader Arpana was not present there at that time. Prateek Yadav was the step brother of former Chief Minister Akhilesh.

Pratik Yadav was suffering from illness for a long time

It is being said in the reports that Prateek Yadav was suffering from a serious lung related disease for a long time. There was a blood clot in his lungs, which was undergoing treatment. In the morning his health suddenly worsened and he stopped responding, after which the family members immediately took him to the hospital, but by then it was too late. Many people are surprised to hear the news of his demise.

How dangerous is the clot present in the lungs?

According to Mayoclinic, an organization providing information about health, the condition of blood clot in the lungs is considered very dangerous. In medical language it is called pulmonary embolism. In this, the blood clot formed in the veins of the body reaches the lungs and stops in the arteries there, stopping the blood flow. In most cases, this clot comes out of the deep veins of the legs and reaches the lungs. This condition is called deep vein thrombosis.

What problem does the patient face?

When the flow of blood and oxygen to the lungs stops, then difficulty in breathing begins. The patient may suddenly feel symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness or fainting. Sometimes blood may also come with cough. Doctors say that this disease can prove fatal, because the affected part of the lungs gradually stops functioning and sufficient oxygen does not reach the rest of the body.

According to the American Lung Association, if treatment is received on time, the patient’s life can be saved.
