A day after talking to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Brazil President Lula de Silva. According to Kremlin’s statement, the two leaders reiterated their resolve to further strengthen strategic partnership and coordination within the BRICS. According to the Brazilian President’s Office, the call took place on Putin’s initiative and it also discussed not only BRICS but also Brazil-Russia Cooperation with Ukraine, America and recent tariff policies.

A day earlier, President Lula called Prime Minister Modi. The two leaders emphasized the target of exceeding $ 20 billion to bilateral trade by 2030. Along with this, cooperation in areas like energy, agriculture and technology was also discussed. India-Brazil relations, especially on multilateral forums like BRICS and G20, have become rapidly strengthened in recent years.

These tariffs highlight the need for a collective response to the BRICS countries, although Lula has clarified that Brazil will not impose tariffs on America alone.
