A relief news has emerged for lakhs of candidates having B.Ed degree in Uttar Pradesh. Now they will get a chance to teach in primary schools. The Uttar Pradesh government has given the green signal to PDPET i.e. Professional Development Program for Elementary Teachers, a bridge course run under NIOS. After doing this course, candidates holding B.Ed degree will also be considered eligible to become teachers in primary schools, as are BTC holders. What is the whole matter?

Some time ago, the Supreme Court had given a major decision. It was said that no person can teach children from class 1 to 5 just by having a B.Ed degree. The Supreme Court had made it clear that training like D.El.Ed or BTC is necessary for teaching in primary classes, B.Ed will not be considered suitable for this. Due to this decision, job opportunities for B.Ed holders were reduced, but now with this new initiative, B.Ed holders are again getting a chance to become primary teachers.

What is PDPET Bridge Course?

PDPET is a 6-month bridge course, specially designed for B.Ed degree holders. In this course, they are given information about techniques of teaching primary children, child psychology, value education, assessment methods and modern methods of teaching. This course is completely online and is conducted under NIOS. After completing the course, the candidate will be given a certificate, the validity of which will be equivalent to BTC or D.El.Ed.

When will PDPET application process start?

NIOS has announced the application dates for this bridge course in the new session. The start date of its applications is said to be 1 November 2025. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website of NIOS http://dledbr.nios.ac.in/. In this, children from class 1 to 5 will be eligible to be taught. The biggest advantage is that this course can be completed sitting at home. Uttar Pradesh government has recognized this course.

Haryana primary teachers salary: Salary to government employees in all states across the country is currently fixed under the 7th Pay Commission. Which is fixed from the monthly basic pay of about 35400 rupees. Apart from this, grade pay, dearness allowance i.e. DA, house rent allowance i.e. HRA and other allowances are also added.

In addition to all this, the salary of the primary teacher of Haryana reaches about Rs 45000 to Rs 50000 at the initial level. With experience and promotion, this figure can be more. The salary of a senior teacher can be up to Rs 60000 or above.

How much will the salary increase from the 8th Pay Commission?

Now it comes to the 8th Pay Commission which is likely to be implemented next year. Experts believe that under the new Commission, basic pay can increase by 25 to 30 percent. If this happens, the initial basic salary of primary teachers of Haryana will increase from Rs 35400 to about 45000 rupees.

After adding allowances, the total salary can range from 55000 to 65000 rupees. At the same time, the salary of experienced and senior teachers is expected to cross Rs 70000. The 8th Pay Commission is expected to bring a big increase in the salary of teachers. However, the official figures will be able to find out only after the announcement.
