Goa Private Vehicles: A big decision has been taken by the Government of Goa. In this state, strict action will be taken against those who are earning money from tourists by renting a car or bike. The government is going to bring a new ordinance.

Under this, the rent-car or rent-bike operator will do commercial work with private vehicles without a valid license, their license will be canceled. This strictness will also apply to those who, despite their own license, rent private vehicles.

High-level meeting held

Last year, the traffic cell of Goa Police cut more than 600 invoices on such people who were offering taxi -like services from private vehicles. After the challan, the owner of the vehicle has to go to the court and pay a fine. Despite this, people are still engaged in this work.

Along with this, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant took a high-level meeting at Police Headquarters, Panaji, taking the matter seriously. This meeting revealed that the government is suffering a big revenue loss due to commercial use of private vehicles. According to the Transport Department, in 2018, some exemption was given to the rented car-bike companies by changing the law. Many people took advantage of this wrongly.

CM gave strict instructions

According to CM Sawant, till now only 10 percent of such cases have been identified where private vehicles were being used commercially. The CM directed that now strict action should be taken on this and necessary changes should be made to stop tax evasion. Apart from this, some important decisions were taken in the meeting, in which the Chief Minister told that the initiative named ‘One tree mother’ will be implemented in every police station.
