After the death of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor’s former husband and industrialist Sanjay Kapoor in June, a huge dispute has come to light in the family regarding his property worth Rs 30,000 crore. In this case, Delhi High Court has reserved its order after hearing the arguments of all the parties. Sanjay Kapoor’s two children from Karisma Kapoor, Samaira Kapoor and Kiyan Raj Kapoor, have approached the court.

Allegation filed in Delhi High Court regarding Sanjay Kapoor’s will

Karisma Kapoor’s children allege that the will presented by his wife Priya Sachdev Kapoor after Sanjay’s death could be fake and fabricated. It has been said in the petition that even the signature on the will does not appear to be Sanjay’s. The children have demanded their rights in the property. Very sharp allegations have been made against Priya Kapoor in the petition. She has been described as greedy and has even been said to behave like Cinderella’s stepmother.

He told the court that the complete list of properties has already been filed along with the documents.

Priya Kapoor’s lawyer called all the arguments baseless

The lawyer appearing on behalf of Priya Kapoor in Delhi High Court said that it is wrong to say that Sanjay’s annual income is Rs 60 crore. On the questions raised regarding an allegedly expensive watch Rolex, he said that the picture being cited was taken from a fake social media account. Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for the children, said that there are many serious flaws in the will and doubts arise. He demanded from the court that Priya Kapoor should be stopped from selling or using the property till the final decision.

Rani Kapoor has said that it is difficult to believe that Sanjay would give his entire personal property only to Priya, whereas he had a deep affection for his mother, children and the Kapoor family. During the hearing, senior lawyer Vaibhav Gaggar alleged that after Sanjay’s death, Priya tried to take complete control over his property and hid many valuable properties in the list presented in the court. Priya Kapoor said no one was excluded from the will

It was also said in the Delhi High Court on behalf of Priya Kapoor that this is not a case of excluding anyone from the inheritance because both the children of Karisma Kapoor have already been given benefits of about Rs 2,000 crore through the family trust. Sanjay Kapoor died suddenly of cardiac arrest during a polo match in England on June 12, 2025. Delhi High Court will hear further in this matter on Friday.

Delhi High Court has sought response from late Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Priya Kapoor on the petition of actress Karisma Kapoor’s children in which they have requested for inspection of the original copy of their father’s alleged will.

Joint Registrar (Judicial) Gagandeep Jindal issued notice to Priya Kapoor and alleged will executor Shraddha Suri Marwah on the petition and asked them to file their reply within three weeks. Now the hearing of the case has been listed for December 16.

Priya Sachdev accused of forging signature
The application was filed in a suit filed by Karisma Kapoor’s children – Samaira Kapoor and her brother – challenging the alleged will of their late father Sanjay Kapoor’s estate.

The value of the assets in question is reportedly Rs 30,000 crore. According to the plaintiffs, the alleged will is fake and fabricated, and the signatures on it are not those of their father, but have been allegedly forged by Priya Kapoor in connivance with the attesting witnesses.

What arguments did Priya Sachdev’s lawyer give?
On the other hand, Priya Kapoor’s lawyer claimed that this application has been filed after he termed the plaintiff’s claims as ‘bogus and baseless’. Priya Kapoor’s lawyer had said in an earlier hearing, ‘The will cannot be called fake due to spelling errors, and he has also not questioned Sanjay Kapoor’s signature.’ The counsel claimed that after this argument was raised, the plaintiff has now filed a fresh application questioning the authenticity of the signature.

Attempt to alienate property
In the application, Karisma Kapoor’s children have sought inspection of the original copy of their late father’s alleged will, which Marwah had filed in a sealed cover on September 25, along with supporting affidavits.

The court is also hearing an interim injunction petition filed by Karisma Kapoor’s children, seeking to restrain Priya Kapoor from alienating them from Sanjay Kapoor’s property. The hearing on this petition will continue on November 20.

Priya Sachdev was called Cinderella’s stepmother.
The children have raised questions on the authenticity of the alleged will. In front of the court, he accused Priya Kapoor of being “greedy” and called her “Cinderella’s stepmother”.
