PSL 2026 prize money less than IPL: In Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026), Peshawar Zalmi, captained by Babar Azam, won the title by defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen. The title match of the tournament was played last Sunday (03 May) at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, in which Peshawar won by 5 wickets. After winning the title, Babar’s team got bumper prize money, but if we compare this prize money with IPL, then there is a difference of about 5 times.

PSL 2026 prize money

The team that won the title of Pakistan T20 League has been given a prize money of 5 lakh US dollars (about 4.70 crore Indian rupees). Whereas the runner up team that lost in the final has been given 3 lakh US dollars (about Rs 2.80 crore).

5 times difference from IPL prize money

In the last season of IPL i.e. 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the title. RCB was given prize money of Rs 20 crore to win the title. If this prize money is compared with the prize money of the current season of PSL, which is Rs 4.70 crore, then there is a difference of almost 5 times between the two.

Peshawar Zalmi’s performance in the season

A very good performance was seen from Peshawar Zalmi in the season. Babar’s team won 8 out of 10 league matches of the season. The team had to face defeat in only 1 match. The remaining one match remained inconclusive due to rain. After the league stage, Peshawar won against Islamabad United by 70 runs.

Then finally in the final, Peshawar won against Hyderabad by 5 wickets. Hyderabad Kingsmen, who came to bat first in the match, were all out for 129 runs in 18 overs. Then Peshawar came out for the chase and won by 5 wickets in just 15.2 overs. Aaron Hardy played the biggest innings of 56* runs for the team. Apart from this, Abdul Samad scored 48 runs. However, the thing to note is that Babar Azam was out on a golden duck.
