Once again, heart-wrenching pictures of the massacre by the Pakistani army have emerged from Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POK). According to the information, when 60 thousand to 70 thousand protesters were sitting on the Idgah ground in Rawalakot in the morning, the Pakistani Army and Rangers opened indiscriminate fire on the unarmed protesters without warning.

After the firing, blood is visible everywhere from the fields to the roads. Today, 16 people have been confirmed dead in the firing by Pakistani Army and Rangers on unarmed protesters with AK-47 rifles, while information about injuries to more than 37 people has come to light. So far 53 civilians have died in the massacre by Pakistani Army that has been going on since Friday.

Public anger erupted over the shooting

After the firing, people’s anger against the firing also erupted in Khai Gala village of Rawalakot, local villagers closed the market along with women and children and took out a protest march against the Pakistan Army and thousands of people raised slogans in one voice saying, “The uniform is behind this terrorism.” Even after the firing incident, the agitators did not seem ready to retreat and still a large number of protesters who had come to Rawalakot from every corner of PoK, are standing at the Idgah ground of Rawalakote and have announced to continue the movement.

Announcement to continue the struggle

Sardar Aman Khan, one of the main organizers of the movement, while addressing the protesters after the firing, talked about taking the struggle to a decisive stage and warned that the movement will not be stopped at any cost and if the protesters are attacked now, not a single attacker should step back. The people of inflation-stricken PoK are on the streets since Tuesday demanding cheap flour, rice, electricity and 12 uninhabited seats and every day the Pakistani army is firing on common unarmed people.

Agnimitra Paul, Minister in the West Bengal Government, participated in the Bengali Culture Festival organized at Rabindra Bhawan in Asansol on Sunday. West Bengal government minister Agnimitra Paul, while talking to journalists, launched a scathing attack on Trinamool Congress (TMC) over the recent attacks on TMC MPs Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee. He claimed that the allegations of BJP being behind these incidents have proved to be baseless.

Agnimitra Paul said, ‘Abhishek Banerjee had earlier held BJP responsible for these attacks, but after the arrests it has come to light that the accused people are close to former TMC MLA Lovely Maitra and workers associated with TMC. This is the result of increasing public anger.

He alleged that TMC has been following the politics of ‘Tola Baji’, syndicate and ‘cut-money’ for a long time. According to him, instead of serving the public, the party has focused on other activities, due to which the development of West Bengal has been affected.

The minister also targeted former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that the state government interferes in almost every matter. He said, ‘If any public representative feels that he has not done any wrong and has not cheated the public, then he should have no hesitation in approaching the court. The judiciary must be trusted.

Agnimitra Paul also raised questions about Abhishek Banerjee’s health and hospitalization. He said that the final decision regarding the health condition of a person lies with the doctors. He commented that if doctors do not find any serious problem and general treatment is sufficient then there should be no need for hospitalization merely for political reasons.

He said, ‘Doctors’ opinion is paramount in health related matters. Neither the government nor any political party can influence medical decisions. Politics should be kept away from sensitive topics like health.
