Actually, UTI occurs when bacteria reach the urinary tract and start growing. In most cases, these bacteria come from the person’s own body, especially E. coli bacteria found in the intestines. These reach the urinary opening through the skin. That means UTI is not directly related to the toilet seat but to the movements of bacteria in the body.

Often people consider toilet seat responsible for UTI, but the reality is different. Toilet seats are usually made of hard and non-porous material. On which bacteria cannot survive for long. Apart from this, the skin of the thighs does not have direct contact with the urinary opening. Therefore, the chances of getting infection from the seat are very less.
