There is a risk of deep vein thrombosis due to pancreatic cancer. In this, blood clots form in the deep veins of the legs or pelvis, causing problems like leg pain, swelling and redness.

Sometimes the skin of the affected area becomes warmer than normal. According to the American Cancer Society, the first sign of cancer in many patients is a blood clot.

If the clot breaks and reaches the lungs, it becomes pulmonary embolism. This causes difficulty in breathing and chest pain. This is a life-threatening condition and immediate treatment is necessary.

Experts say that less movement after cancer treatment, especially chemotherapy and surgery, further increases the risk of clot formation.

Apart from cancer, genetic conditions, hormone therapy, contraceptive pills, varicose veins, obesity, smoking and aging also increase the risk of clots.

Pancreatic cancer occurs when cells of the pancreas grow out of control and form a tumor. In the initial stage it is not visible in the scan and is resistant to many drugs.

Its symptoms include jaundice, dark urine, light stool, stomach or back pain, fatigue, skin itching, nausea, bloating, loss of appetite, weight loss and diabetes.
