That black day of the country was 14 February 2019 when the country lost 40 of its heroes. Today is the seventh anniversary of Pulwama terrorist attack. 40 brave CRPF soldiers were martyred in this painful attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. This day is a dark and tragic chapter in the history of India which is remembered every year as ‘Black Day’.

Ashok Pandit paid tribute to the martyrs
On the occasion of the seventh anniversary of Pulwama terror attack, film producer and President of Film and Television Producers Association, Ashok Pandit has paid tribute to the martyrs by sharing an emotional post on his Instagram account. He wrote, ‘Today marks seven years since the Pulwama attack. It was a sad day in the history of India. We remember and salute the 40 CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in the terrorist attack of 2019.

How did the attack happen?
A Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber hit a vehicle laden with explosives on a CRPF convoy going from Jammu to Srinagar. 40 soldiers were martyred and many were injured in this attack. This incident shocked the entire country. After this, India took strong action like Balakot airstrike.

Tributes and condolences across the country
Various celebrities, leaders and common citizens are expressing condolences to the families of the martyrs on Black Day. Paying tribute to the brave soldiers martyred in Pulwama, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on social media that the loyalty, courage and service to the country will always remain in the hearts of the brave soldiers martyred in Pulwama on 14 February 2019. Every Indian gets inspiration from these heroes. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the sacrifice of these immortal soldiers gives us the strength to unite against terrorism.

Message from leaders and opposition
Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have also paid tribute to the martyrs. He said that the sacrifice of these heroes will continue to inspire us to completely eradicate terrorism. Opposition Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and NCP’s Sharad Pawar have also paid tribute to the martyrs.

14 February 2019 is recorded as a black day in Indian history. On the same day, a very tragic incident took place, in which a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist hit a bus of CRPF jawans with a vehicle filled with explosives in Pulwama district. In this suicide attack, 40 soldiers were martyred and many were seriously injured. This incident shocked the entire country and since then this day has been recorded as Black Day.

The pain of the families is still alive

The family of martyr Jaimal Singh, resident of Moga, Punjab, remembered that dark day. The father told that a road is being built in his name, which gives a feeling of both pride and pain. The mother said that for a mother, the loss of her son puts life on hold and this pain never ends.

The wife emotionally said that life is very difficult without him, but she has to take care of herself to raise the son. He told that his son has now grown up and is concentrating on studies. He misses his father, but understands that what happened cannot be changed.

India’s counter action

A few days after the attack, India conducted an airstrike in Balakot, Pakistan, which came to be known as Balakot Airstrike. Through this action, terrorist hideouts were targeted and the message was given that the country will not let the martyrdom of its soldiers go in vain. Pulwama attack is still alive in the memory of the country. Even after seven years, the pain of the families of the martyrs and the tears in the eyes of the country remind us of that day. This black day teaches the country to remain united against terrorism.

What happened and how did the attack happen?

The attacker associated with the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed targeted the CRPF convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. The explosion was so severe that the bus was blown to pieces and the surrounding area was shaken. A wave of grief and anger ran across the country.
