The Chief Minister has instructed the officials that any flood affected citizen should not be left hungry, thirsty or without treatment and assistance should be provided to remotely cut areas.

Till now the measure of destruction due to floods

So far, more than 3,87,898 people have been directly displaced. More than 20 lakh people are affected in 2,050 villages. According to IANS, 22,938 people have been evacuated across the state and 219 relief camps have been set up, of which 5,404 people are living. The flood has damaged 1,76,980 hectares of crop land. Not only this, 48 ​​people have died so far, while 3 people are being told missing in Pathankot district.

The Punjab government has assured that all possible assistance will be given to the affected families and the government will be engaged in full force in reconstruction of the destroyed houses. The Chief Minister has expressed confidence that soon he will leave the hospital and take command of relief work at the ground level.
