In the fourth match of IPL 2026, Punjab Kings restricted Gujarat Titans to 162 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal played the biggest role in preventing Gujarat Titans from scoring big. Chahal sent fully set Jos Buttler and Shubman Gill to the pavilion. Chahal got both these batsmen caught out. After losing the toss and coming to bat first, Gujarat Titans team could score only 162 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Only 34 runs were scored in the last 5 overs. Vijaykumar Vaishak also bowled brilliantly for Punjab. Vaishak took 3 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs.

Gujarat had a good start. Sai Sudarshan and Shubman Gill added 37 runs for the first wicket. Sudarshan was out after scoring 13 runs in 11 balls with the help of two fours. Marco Jansen sent him to the pavilion. After this there was a partnership of 46 runs between Gill and Jos Buttler. Captain Gill was out in the 10th over with a total score of 83. He scored 39 runs in 27 balls with the help of 6 fours. Gill was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal.

When two wickets fell at 83, Glenn Phillips came out to bat. Phillips and Butler took the innings forward. Both were well set. Phillips was caught out while trying to hit a six on the last ball of the 14th over. He scored 25 runs in 17 balls. A four and a six came from Phillips’ bat. Then on the total score of 129, Butler also returned to the pavilion in an attempt to hit a six. Butler played an innings of 38 runs in 33 balls. Three fours and two sixes came from his bat.

After the dismissal of Phillips and Butler, the pace of runs decreased completely. Washington Sundar, who came at number five, was out after scoring 18 runs in 16 balls with the help of two fours. Shahrukh Khan also could not score runs fast. He was out after scoring four runs in six balls. Rahul Tewatia returned unbeaten on 11 runs in 10 balls.
