Four people have died after being hit by Purushottam Express in Prayagraj division. Actually, the guard and loco pilot of train number 12312 (down direction) between Karchana-Bhirpur section of Prayagraj division informed about seeing the dead body on the track at 6.15 pm. After this, this train was stopped and then Purushottam Express in train number 12801 (up direction) was passing from the same place at 6.47 pm.

During this time, 4 persons were hit by the train and all of them died on the spot. Railways has said that administrative action is being taken regarding the incident. This accident happened near Pachdevra overbridge on Wednesday evening.

Three of the four dead were identified

Giving information, Railway SP Prashant Verma said that out of the total four dead, three have been identified. Railways is thoroughly investigating it. If any criminal angle is found then action will be taken by GRP and police also. Railways is providing full assistance to the families of the deceased.

How did the accident happen?

GRP SP Prashant Verma said, “This evening a person died after being hit by the Kalka Express due to which the train had stopped. The passengers of this train got down out of curiosity, when the Purushottam Express train came on the other track, due to which four people died.

The deceased were residents of UP and Bihar

Giving information, Assistant Police Commissioner (Karchhana) Sunil Kumar said that the deceased have been identified as Baliram (36), resident of Siwan, Bihar, Sunil Kumar (24), resident of Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh and Akash (17), resident of Firozabad. The bodies have been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem.
