Samajwadi Party MP from Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav, has given a strong statement on the decision of the special intensive amendment (SIR) and Malegaon blast case of the voter list just before the Bihar elections. He said that the decision to remove 60 lakh voters raises questions on the Election Commission and the government, while he also objected to the time period of the decision in the Malegaon blast case.

Dimple Yadav said why is SIR being done just before the election? It raises questions on the government and the Election Commission. 60 lakh voters have been removed, which shows that the government does not want free and fair elections. He further said that this step is an attack on the democratic process and ignoring the demands of the opposition and the people of Bihar is a matter of serious concern.

Reaction to Malegaon blast case

On the acquittal of all the accused in the Malegaon blast case, Dimple Yadav said that the court has said that the accused have been acquitted for lack of evidence, but doubt remains intact. Questions also arise on the time period of this decision, as it has come amid the discussion of ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the tariff imposed on India by the US President. He said that many questions have remained unanswered by this decision.

Opposition attacks on both issues

Explain that this statement of Dimple Yadav has come at a time when opposition parties are targeting the government on the SIR and Malegaon blast case. The opposition alleges that it is a conspiracy to influence the election results by removing the voters, while questions are also being raised on the time period of the decision in the Malegaon blast case.

Questions are also being raised about Malegaon that the opposition is already accusing former MP Sadhvi Pragya. On the other hand, in Bihar, there is a continuous attack on the Election Commission and Modi government regarding SIR.

Senior Congress leader and spokesperson Pawan Kheda launched a scathing attack on the Modi government and the Election Commission on Wednesday (July 23, 2025). He said that the credibility of democratic institutions in the country is being weakened and the public is now beginning to understand it. He raised many serious questions about the Election Commission, BJP’s internal politics, Prime Minister’s foreign policy and resignation of the Vice President. He also claimed that the chair of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is not safe.

Attacking the organizational status of BJP, he said that the BJP itself is not able to decide its president. He further said, “The BJP’s organization has become leadershipless. There is no face left in the party which can be made unanimously president.” He claimed that the chair of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also not safe and the inner fighting is going on in the party.

Pawan Kheda raised questions on the fairness of the Election Commission

Pawan Kheda alleged that the Election Commission had lost its role of fairness. He said, “When we question the Election Commission, the BJP answers and when we question the BJP, the Election Commission gives the answer.” The Congress leader described it as dangerous for democracy and said that the public is now understanding this game. He satirized and said that now “the fear of fat brother and younger brother is ending.”

Questions on the resignation of Vice President

The Congress leader also questioned the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. He said that this resignation has taken place in a mysterious way and the Vice President should clarify the reason for his resignation in front of the country. He raised the question, “When the monsoon session of Parliament was starting, the resignation of the Vice President raises doubts. Was it a part of a scheme?”

Sarcasm on PM’s foreign policy

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign visit, Kheda alleged, “PM is afraid of China and America. They avoid difficult questions and try to divert attention from domestic issues through foreign tours.”
