Rameshwar Mahato has also written, “With the strength of NDA and the determination for the all-round development of Bihar, we are together. Jai NDA.” People’s attention has been drawn to the fact that in this entire post the RLM MLA has mentioned NDA, but not Upendra Kushwaha’s party. In such a situation, speculations are being made that these MLAs are preparing to leave Kushwaha and join BJP.

He rejected the question of break in Rashtriya Lok Morcha and said that such questions are being asked unnecessarily.

Congress rally against ‘vote theft’

Congress is continuously accusing BJP of vote theft in elections. Rahul Gandhi is continuously raising this issue. What did Upendra Kushwaha say on Samrat Chaudhary’s statement?

It has been revealed through RTI on December 2 (2025) that many leaders of Bihar and Central Government are taking both salary and pension simultaneously. There are names of total eight leaders in it. Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha’s name is also there in this. He has given his response on this today (December 09, 2025).

Kushwaha has written in his X post, “Extremely baseless and fact-free news is being published/broadcast in the media about some former members of Bihar Assembly/Legislative Council taking pension. An incomplete information given under the Right to Information has been made the basis of the news.”

‘Only I took salary while in the House’

He said, “My name is also included in the said list. Therefore, I would like to make you aware of the truth about me, which is as follows – From the date of commencement of pension mentioned in the letter till now, no details have been given about who took the pension amount and when till now. I want to tell about myself that from the beginning till now, I have taken pension only during the period when I have not been a member of any House. While being in the House, I have taken salary only from there. The question of taking pension does not arise during that period.”

‘Can’t take salary and pension together’

Upendra Kushwaha further said, “Obviously today I am a member of the Rajya Sabha. Hence, I am taking salary from the Rajya Sabha. I am not taking pension from the Assembly/Legislative Council. The provision is also that you cannot simultaneously take the salary of any House and pension from anyone else. I am also following this rule 100 percent.”

Let us tell you that among the leaders whose names have appeared in RTI, names of Union Minister Satish Chandra Dubey and Bihar Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav are also there. After the division of portfolios of ministers in Bihar, Upendra Kushwaha’s son Deepak Prakash has taken charge of the Panchayati Raj Department. He has given a big statement saying that at many places the work is not being completed on time. He has also raised questions regarding the quality of construction materials. There was also mention of forming a committee to review the work done at the Panchayat level.

I have assumed charge. Extensive discussions have been held with the Secretary and other officials of the department. Quality of work is not good in many places – Deepak Prakash

The minister said, “So that whatever work is being done at the Panchayat level can be properly monitored, a committee will be formed with representatives of various political parties at the Panchayat level.” The work of this committee will be to review the work done at the Panchayat level. Emphasis on building assets on Zilla Parishad lands

He also mentioned the Zilla Parishad lands. He said, “Another issue is the Zilla Parishad lands at the district level. There is a total of about 35 thousand acres of land in Bihar including all the districts. Revenue generating assets should be developed on these lands, for this either these lands should be given on lease directly or buildings should be constructed on those places. In Bajpatti, Rameshwar Kumar Mahato won by 3395 votes, in Madhubani, Madhav Anand won by 20,552 votes, in Sasaram, Upendra Kushwaha’s wife Snehlata won by a margin of more than 25 thousand votes and in Dinara, Alo Kumar Singh won by 10,834 votes.

Laddus in both hands of Upendra Kushwaha

Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha formed the new party on 20 February 2023. RLM, contesting assembly elections for the first time, has got a ministerial post in Nitish cabinet. Upendra Kushwaha has established his son Deepak Prakash on the political stage by making him a minister, while his wife will remain active with her victory in the assembly.

Counting of votes is going on for the assembly elections held on 243 seats in Bihar on 6th and 11th November. Counting of votes has started from 8 am on Friday at 46 counting centers of the state and this time 2615 candidates have tried their luck in this election. However, the trends so far have raised the tension of the Grand Alliance to the seventh sky. While NDA is ahead on 161 seats, the wind of Grand Alliance is currently blowing on only 68 seats. Now it is also being said that the allies on whom RJD showed trust could not do anything special.

These allies did not work for RJD?

If we talk about the Grand Alliance in the current trends, then they are leading in just under 70 seats. But in this also RJD has the maximum seats. Congress, VIP, Left, IIP, which are considered to be Tejashwi’s trust in the grand alliance, could not do any special magic. In the latest trends, RJD is leading on 50 seats while Congress is leading on only 12 seats. The condition of other allies is even worse. On VIP 01, the Left is leading on 5 seats. But if we talk about IIP, its account has not even been opened yet.

Nitish’s allies also lagged behind!

Even though NDA alliance is in lead, JDU seems to be the largest party in this election. Although BJP is not far behind JDU but the condition of other allies looks bad. LJP is leading on 14 seats, while HAM is on 3 seats and RLM is still spreading its magic on only 1 seat.

Jansuraj is also in the field

Let us also tell you that 238 candidates of Prashant Kishor’s party Jansuraj are in the electoral fray in Bihar elections. Apart from this, other parties are also in this election, in which Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has 83 candidates, BSP (BSP) has 181 candidates and the number of independent candidates is 926.

Before the assembly elections in Bihar, the stir regarding seat sharing within the NDA has intensified. A meeting of leaders of JDU, HAM, RLSP and LJPR was held at the residence of BJP President JP Nadda in Delhi, in which seat sharing was discussed. According to sources, a consensus has not yet been reached regarding seats in this meeting. It is being told that JDU and Manjhi’s party are not able to agree on the seats demanded by Chirag. It is being told that JDU leaders have cleared the BJP high command that only they should deal with Chirag, JDU will not deal with him.

JDU is not ready to give its seats to Mehnar, Matihani and Chakai Chirag. Mahnar is the seat of JDU state president Umesh Kushwaha, while Chirag’s party had won in Matihani 2020, but now the MLA has joined JDU. Chakai has independent MLA Sumit Singh, who has the support of JDU.

BJP is not ready to give its Govindganj seat to Chirag. At the same time, Manjhi’s party is not ready to give its Sikandra seat to Chirag. According to sources, Chirag is claiming those seats where his candidates can win, due to which this matter of seats is stuck in NDA. BJP has asked JDU to deal with Chirag itself.

What did RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha say?

RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha has clarified that the claim being made in media reports that a final agreement has been reached on seat sharing within the NDA and some seats are being given to his party is wrong. Upendra Kushwaha said that the talks have not been completely concluded yet and it is continuing. Based on further information given by the BJP leadership, his team is going to Delhi, where talks will be held.

He also said that his party will not publicly reveal how many seats it wants. If necessary, a detailed discussion will be held with the concerned parties.

This decision was taken in LJP meeting

According to sources, the Parliamentary Board has given LJP President Chirag Paswan the authority to take the final decision on seat sharing for the NDA alliance. Currently, discussions are going on on 5-6 seats, which are such where allies also want to field their candidates. At present, there is no possibility of alliance breaking or doubt arising during talks on this issue.

Bharatiya Janata Party can contest on 101 seats. On the other hand, BJP leaders are trying to convince Chirag Paswan. It is believed that his party LJP (Ram Vilas) can be given 26 seats. Whereas Manjhi’s party HAM can be given 7 seats and Upendra Kushwaha’s party Rashtriya Lok Morcha can be given 7 seats.

Chirag gets more offers along with this

According to the information received so far, there is a dilemma regarding some seats. It is almost certain that Chirag will not be given less than 25 seats. If Chirag gets 25 seats then BJP can fight on 102. That means JDU and BJP can contest equal number of seats. A leader of Chirag’s party said that a list of 26 seats has been given by them. However, BJP has also offered one MLC and one Rajya Sabha seat to Chirag Paswan.

Let us tell you that on Tuesday (October 07, 2025), senior BJP leaders Dharmendra Pradhan, Vinod Tawde and Mangal Pandey had met Chirag Paswan at his residence in Delhi. It is believed that discussions have been held regarding the screws getting stuck on the seats. On the other hand, there is news that Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha have also agreed on seven seats each. If seen, BJP is trying to completely satisfy its allies in Bihar.
