There is great news for lakhs of youth preparing for government jobs in Railways. Actually, Northern Railway has announced to start the recruitment process for more than 4000 apprentice posts for the new session. This recruitment process is being considered as a golden opportunity for those candidates who want to make a career in Railways and have been waiting for a big recruitment for a long time. The special thing is that there will be no written examination for applying to these posts. Rather, the selection will be done on the basis of 10th and ITI marks. In such a situation, if the merit is strong, the chances of selection will also increase. The application process for this recruitment will start from 25th November and will continue till 24th December 2025. How many vacancies in which zone?

A total of 4116 vacancies have been released by RRC Northern Railway. These include 1397 posts in Lucknow zone, 1137 posts in Delhi, 632 posts in Firozpur, 934 posts in Ambala and 16 posts in Moradabad. Under these posts, apprentices will be recruited in many trades including fitter, electrician, welder and carpenter. For this recruitment, the candidate must have passed 10th with 50 percent marks from a recognized board. Apart from this, ITI certificate in related trade from NCVT/SCVT recognized institute is necessary. The age of the applicant should be between 15 to 24 years. Apart from this, reserved category will get relaxation in maximum age limit in this recruitment.

• Lastly, for this recruitment process, general category candidates will have to deposit a fee of Rs 100. Whereas SC, ST, women and disabled candidates will not have to pay any fees.

What is the selection process?

There will be no examination of any kind for all these apprentice posts. The selection process will be based on merit list based on marks obtained in 10th and ITI. After this there will be document verification and then selection will be done after medical test.

A great opportunity has come for the youth dreaming of a job in the railway. Eastern Railway has announced the recruitment of thousands of posts of Apprentice for the year 2025. Under this recruitment, eligible candidates will be selected as apprentices in various trades. The application process will start from 14 August 2025 and interested candidates can join it by filling the online form.

According to the notification issued by Eastern Railway, a total of 3115 posts will be recruited. This recruitment is being done for various workshops and divisions, including areas such as Howrah, Sealdah, Malda, Asansol, Kanchrapada, Lilua and Jamalpur. This recruitment is a golden opportunity for the youth to start a career in the Railways.

Educational qualification

Candidates applying for these posts should be at least 10th pass (secondary). Along with this, ITI certificate is also necessary in the related trade. The certificate of the candidate should be from a recognized board or institute.

Age limit

To apply for these posts, the minimum age of the candidate should be 15 years and the maximum age should not be more than 24 years. However, candidates of reserved classes will be given age relaxation according to government rules.

Selection process

No written examination or interview will be taken for apprentice posts. The selection will be fully on merit base, which will be decided on the basis of the candidate’s 10th class and the marks obtained in ITI. The candidates who have the same marks will be selected on the basis of their age – in which priority will be given to older age.

Training and stipend

Selected candidates will be trained for the scheduled time. During the training, he will also get a stipend (training allowance) fixed by the government. After completing the training, candidates will get experience of working in the respective field, which can be beneficial for the permanent job in future.

Application fee will have to be paid so much

General, OBC and EWS (EWS) candidates will have to pay 100 fees. SC, ST and women candidates will not have to pay any fee.

Required documents

While applying online, candidates will have to prepare information like their 10th and ITI certificate, photo, signature, caste certificate (if applicable), and Aadhaar card.

Candidates will be able to apply online from 14 August 2025. The last date to apply is 13 September 2025. Applications will be accepted only on online means on Eastern Railway’s official website https://er.indianrailways.gov.in.
