In the recent Cabinet meeting of the government, infrastructure projects worth more than ₹ 12,000 crore have been approved, which will give a big boost to the railway, airport, farmers and power sector. Railway projects worth ₹9,072 crore will upgrade 307 km network and strengthen connectivity in Maharashtra, MP, Bihar and Jharkhand. ₹1,677 crore will be spent on Srinagar Airport expansion, which will take the annual passenger capacity to 10 million. Raw jute MSP has been increased for farmers. The subsidiary investment limit of Maharatna PSU Power Grid Corporation of India has been increased from ₹5,000 crore to ₹7,500 crore. Besides, Ahmedabad–GIFT City metro extension has also got approval, the aim of which is long-term economic growth.
