According to the RRB Exam Calendar 2026, different recruitments will be conducted in a phased manner throughout the year. The recruitment process of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) will proceed between January to March, in which vacancies will be assessed through OIRMS in December 2025 and draft of notification will be prepared in February 2026. Recruitment for the posts of Technician and Section Controller is proposed during April to June. After this, there will be recruitment for Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA), Paramedical Staff and NTPC (Graduate and Under Graduate) categories between July to September. The recruitment process for Ministerial and separate categories as well as Level-1 posts will be started from October to December, while the exact dates of all the examinations will be released by the respective RRBs through separate official notifications.

Railway Board has given clear instructions to all the zonal railways and production units to complete the assessment of their respective vacancies within the stipulated time limit. This entire process will be done through Online Integrated Railway Management System (OIRMS). Its purpose is that the data of all the vacant posts should be available on a single platform, so that the recruitment process can be made simple and fast. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released short notification for recruitment to the posts like Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA). The application process for these posts will start from 31 October 2025. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of Railways rrbapply.gov.in.

The last date of application for this recruitment has been fixed as 30 November 2025. At the same time, if any candidate makes any mistake while filling the form, then Railways has also given him a chance to make corrections. Selection in Railways will not be done through any one examination, but after four stages. Candidates will have to go through written examination (CBT), document verification and medical test.

• First Stage – CBT I

There will be a total of 100 questions in the first phase exam and candidates will be given 90 minutes to solve it.
In this, questions will be asked from subjects like Mathematics, General Intelligence, General Science and General Awareness.
There will be negative marking in the exam, 1/3 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

• Second Stage – CBT II

There will be 150 questions in the second phase examination and the time has been fixed for 120 minutes.
In this, questions will be asked from technical subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Computer, Environment and General Awareness.
There will be no negative marking in this examination.

• third step – Document Verification

Candidates who pass both the stages of CBT will have to get their documents verified.

• Fourth step – medical examination

Before final selection, medical fitness test of the candidates will be conducted to ensure that they are fully fit for Railway service.

The candidates selected in this recruitment will get a salary of Rs 35,400 per month. Along with this, many government facilities like dearness allowance, traveling allowance, medical facilities, and pension benefits will also be provided by the Railways.

Online examination has started today for railway NTPC UG level recruitment i.e. from August 7. More than 63 lakh candidates will be included in this examination. There will be a computer based examination for 3445 posts, which will last 19 days. This RRB exam will be conducted in three shifts every day and for every shift, 90 minutes i.e. 1.5 hours will be available.
