A hearing was held on Tuesday in the fraud case registered against Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra. During this, senior advocate Abad Ponda appeared on behalf of Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty and sought permission to go to London. It was said in the petition that Raj Kundra’s father’s health is very bad, hence he should be allowed to go abroad.

The court first asked about the nature of the crime in the case and the amount involved. The court was told that the matter is related to Rs 60 crore. On this, the court gave clear instructions that permission to travel abroad will be given only when the petitioner deposits the entire amount of Rs 60 crore in the court. Senior Advocate Ponda opposed this and said, ‘There is no law under which instructions can be given to deposit the entire amount.’

Full amount required to be deposited
The court said that it is not satisfied with the bona fide (intention) of the petitioners and there is no guarantee that they will return from abroad. Therefore it is necessary to deposit the full amount. After this, Ponda requested that instead of money, security or any other form of security should be accepted. On this, the court orally directed that the petitioner should submit a continuous bank guarantee of the nationalized bank to prove his intention.

Case adjourned for a week
Ponda argued that at least this amount should be kept ‘reasonable’, but the bench rejected it and said that the guarantee should be full and continuous at Rs 60 crore. After this, the government side told the court that the copy of this application has not yet been given to the EOW. The court got angry at this and ordered to list the case after three weeks. Later, Senior Advocate Ponda protested strongly and said that he will take instructions from his client on the bank guarantee, hence the date should be given before the Christmas break. Later the court adjourned the case for a week.

In this case, complainant Deepak Kothari is being represented by advocates Dr. Yusuf Iqbal and Jain Shoaf from the firm M/s YNA Legal.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have once again become part of the headlines. A businessman has accused Shilpa and Raj of fraud of 60 crores. Shilpa and Raj had still kept silence in this matter, but now Raj has reacted on it. A lookout notice has been issued against Raj and Shilpa in the fraud case. Because of which they cannot go outside the country.

Raj Kundra is busy these days in the promotion of his film Meher. During the promotion of the film, Raj was asked about this 60 crore fraud case. In response to which he has said that the truth will be revealed.

Raj Kundra broke silence
Raj Kundra has told in a special conversation with India Today that he and Shilpa are innocent and the truth will come out. Raj said- ‘We wait and see, because this is life. And we have not said anything about this because we know that we have not done anything wrong. Finally the truth will be revealed. We have not done anything wrong in life and will never do it. Raj did not talk about the details of the case but he kept saying that he has not done anything wrong. There are often controversies in life.

The spot is to be held on 15 September

Let me tell you that Mumbai’s Economic Crime Branch (EOW) had issued summons against Raj Kundra. In which Raj was asked to appear on September 10, but he asked his lawyer and asked for time for this. Now Raj has to appear before EOW on 15 September.

Explain that the FIR lodged at Juhu police station was based on the complaint of Deepak Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services. Kothari has alleged that between 2015 and 2023, he invested Rs 60.48 crore for business expansion at Best Deal TV Private Limited Company promoted by Shetty and Kundra.
