Sonam Raghuvanshi, wife of the main accused Raja in the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, may file a bail petition in front of the Judicial Magistrate of Sohra Sub-Division today (September 12). Sonam’s lawyer will demand bail on the basis of the flaws of the charge sheet filed by the Meghalaya police in this case.

The lawyers will present a petition for bail citing flaws in the charge sheet. He said, “Bail petition will be filed in the charge sheet due to formal and legal flaws.” Such handed over can usually work in favor of the accused in the court.

790 -page charge sheet was filed

Last week, Eastern Khasi Hills Police filed a detailed charge sheet of 790 pages in this case. This report includes the names of a total of 5 main accused. Investigators have described the case as a well -planned and frightening conspiracy.

In the charge sheet, Raja’s wife Sonam, her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha and 3 rented attackers Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi have been accused. All of them have been booked under sections 103 (1), 238 (a) and 61 (2) of the Indian Code, 2023.

The story of the murder of King Raghuvanshi has been completely sensational. The police have described it as a serious and planned case, in which the role of all the accused has been proved separately.

What was the whole matter?

Let me tell you that the couple, 29 -year -old Raja Raghuvanshi and 27 -year -old Sonam, who lived in the city of Indore, went to Meghalaya for a honeymoon. He went missing on 23 May. 11 days later, on June 2, the body of the king was found in 150 feet deep ditch near Weisadong Falls in East Khasi Hills, but Sonam has not been detected yet.

Meghalaya Police has filed a charge sheet against 8 people, including his wife Sonam, in the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi this year. Sonam made a plan three times before

Apart from this, three killers – Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi were also accused. SIT officials said that the love story of Sonam and Raj Kushwaha continued even after marriage. A few days after marriage, he started planning to kill the king. The charge sheet states that Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha tried to kill King Raghuvanshi three times, then finally succeeded in murder.

Married on 11 May this year
Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam were married on 11 May in Indore. Nine days after the wedding, that is, on May 20, the couple reached Shillong and traveled from there to Sohra. On May 23, after checking out from Nongriyat Homestay, three killers attacked the king with a sharp weapon under the conspiracy of Sonam and Raj Kushwaha near Y Savdong Falls. During this, Sonam was also present on the spot. After the murder, the body was thrown into the ditch. After several days of discovery, the body of King Raghuvanshi was recovered from a deep moat in Arraliang Riyat Kunongrim in Umbalai, near the famous Wei Savdong waterfall in Sohra on June 2.

Arrest after investigation
The SIT arrested Sonam Raghuvanshi, Raj Kushwaha and three killers from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh within a week after investigating the entire case. Apart from this, three other associate accused – Silom James (Property Dealer), Lokendra Tomar (Flat owner) and Balbir Ahirwar (Security Guard) were also arrested. All three were accused that they had helped in eradicating and hiding evidence. At present, all three accused are out on bail.

According to the statement issued by the police, allegations have been made against Sonam Raghuvanshi, Raj Kushwaha, Akash Singh Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan and Anand Kurmi under sections 103 (1) (murder), 238 (A) (eradication of evidence) and 61 (2) (criminal conspiracy).

King Raghuvanshi’s family’s response
Raja’s brother Vipin Raghuvanshi welcomed the filing of charge sheet. Talking to the media, he said, “We have not received the charge sheet yet, but I will go to Meghalaya on Monday. He also alleged that Sonam’s brother Govind had previously promised to provide justice to the family, but now Sonam is contacting in jail.
