Rajasthan High Court has adopted a strict stance regarding the liquor vends running on the national and state highways of the state. The bench of Justice Dr. Pushpendra Singh Bhati and Justice Sanjit Purohit has given strict instructions that all the liquor vends within 500 meters of the highway should be removed. The court has given two months time to the state government to remove or relocate these 1102 liquor shops.

The state government had argued in the court that these 1102 shops located on the highway fall in urban or municipal areas, from which the government gets a revenue of about Rs 2221.78 crore. But the High Court rejected this argument outright. The court said that the orders of the Supreme Court cannot be flouted in the name of urban limits. Making a scathing comment, the court said that the government has misused the classification of ‘municipal area’ and made the highway a ‘liquor-friendly corridor’, which is not acceptable.

HC expressed concern regarding road accidents

In its order, the court expressed deep concern over the increasing road accidents in the state. The court mentioned the horrific accidents that took place in Harmada (Jaipur) and Phalodi, in which 28 people lost their lives in just two days. The court said that drunk driving and over-speeding are the main reasons for these accidents. Statistics show that in 2025, there will be an increase of about 8% in ‘drunk and drive’ cases.

• Mandatory radius of 500 meters: No liquor shop will operate within a radius of 500 meters of the National and State Highway, even if it is in the municipal area.
• 1102 shops will shift: The government admitted that there are 1102 such shops on the highway. These will have to be compulsorily removed within 2 months.
• Advertisement also banned: There will be a complete ban on liquor advertisements, hoardings and sign boards visible from the highway. If found so, strict action will be taken.
• Life is bigger than revenue: The court said that the right to life is fundamental under Article 21 of the Constitution. People’s safety cannot be put at stake just to earn revenue.

When is the report to be submitted?

The compliance report of the case will have to be presented to the Excise Commissioner by 26 January 2026 for the next hearing.

What is the argument of the petitioner?

Advocate M.M. appeared on behalf of petitioner Kanhaiya Lal Soni and others. Dhera advocated. He told the court that the Supreme Court’s ‘K. Despite the decision of the ‘Baalu’ case, the Excise Department allotted contracts on the highways by distorting the rules, due to which the accidents are increasing.

He said, “Highways cannot be allowed to become centers of liquor sales by ignoring road safety and public safety. If every highway is exempted by treating it as an ‘urban area’, then the very purpose of the Supreme Court order will be defeated.”

Rajasthan HC Decision’s Against a Wife: In an important decision, the Rajasthan High Court has ordered the state government to deduct Rs 20,000 every month from the salary of a woman and deposit this amount in her father-in-law’s account. This case is from Rajasthan, where a woman got a job on compassionate grounds after the death of her husband. After the death of her husband, she was given about 70% of the provident fund and compensation amount. But, after just 18 days, she left her in-laws’ house and got married for the second time.

Father-in-law took legal action

The woman’s father-in-law filed a petition in the court, stating that his son, late Rajesh Kumar, who was a technical assistant at Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, had died while in service on September 15, 2015.

After Rajesh’s death, the department invited applications from the family for appointment on compassionate grounds. During this process, father-in-law Bhagwan was given this opportunity, but he gave it up in favor of his daughter-in-law, so that she could be the support of her family. Within 18 days of getting the job, the woman left home and got married again. After this the father-in-law approached the court.

What happened in the court?

The woman said that she had initially helped her father-in-law, but she was harassed, due to which she left the house and had to marry again. However, the court, after examining the records, found that both father-in-law and mother-in-law were financially dependent on the son’s earnings and after the son’s untimely death, they became completely helpless.

The Rajasthan High Court said that since the compassionate appointment was given for the financial support of the family, it is not appropriate that after getting the job, the woman should completely ignore the parents of her late husband.

The court directed the state government to deduct Rs 20,000 per month from the woman’s salary and deposit this amount in the account of father-in-law Bhagwan. This judgment not only underlines the moral objective of compassionate appointments, but also shows that the law does not permit shirking family responsibility.

An FIR was lodged against Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the Mathura Gate police station in Bharatpur in the case of marketing of bad car. Recruitment examination was held in September 2021

In Jodhpur, Asaram, who is serving life imprisonment in the case of sexual harassment, has received a major setback from the Rajasthan High Court. The court refused to increase his interim bail. The verdict was pronounced based on the medical report of the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. Now Asaram will have to surrender in Jodhpur Central Jail by 30 August.

The Rajasthan High Court clarified that according to the medical report, Asaram’s health is currently worth living in jail. This order has been given by the double bench of High Court Justice Dinesh Mehta and Justice Vineet Kumar Mathur. The court said in the order that Asaram will have to surrender in Jodhpur Central Jail by 30 August. At present, interim bail was increased by Asaram’s lawyer. The bail application has been rejected by the court based on the feedback given by three doctors of the government hospital in his medical report. This decision is being considered a big shock for the accused, who are already suffering life imprisonment in a serious case of sexual misconduct.
Please tell that a bail petition was filed by Asaram on August 12, but the court had extended that period till August 29, giving relief on the basis of medical report, but this time the court has issued an order to surrender.

The High Court has taken a big decision regarding dilapidated schools in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan High Court has banned studies in more than 86 thousand classrooms of state government schools. The entry of children in these dilapidated classrooms has also been banned. The High Court said that these classrooms should be locked and children should not be allowed to go around them. The court has also said that by making alternative arrangements, children should be studied in other rooms.

The High Court clearly said, “If all the classrooms of a school are shabby, then alternative arrangements should be made for the education of the children there.” The education department of the Rajasthan government will have to arrange for this. ”Actually, the Rajasthan High Court is hearing automatically in the case of death of seven children due to falling school building on July 25 in Jhalawar.

Rajasthan government filed a reply in HC

A hearing was held in the High Court on Monday (August 04) on the case of claiming the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer as Hindu temple. What is the whole matter?

It is noteworthy that in August 2013, a 16 -year -old girl accused Asaram of sexually assaulting her in her ashram near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The victim’s parents lodged a complaint, due to which Asaram was arrested on August 31, 2013. Subsequently, in April 2018, a Jodhpur court convicted Asaram of rape from a minor and sentenced him to life imprisonment under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses and various sections of the Juvenile Justice Act.

In October 2013, further allegations were reported when a former disciple and a woman from Surat accused Asaram of repeated sexual harassment between 2001 and 2006 at her ashram in Ahmedabad.

This was followed by another legal case, which ended in January 2023 when a court in Gandhinagar convicted Asaram for rape, which was his second sentence on such allegations. Apart from these punishment, Asaram’s son Narayan Sai also made similar allegations.

In 2013, two sisters of Surat alleged that Asaram and Narayan had sexually assaulted them in the mid -2000s. The elder sister accused Asaram, while the younger sister accused Narayan of attack in Surat Ashram between 2002 and 2005.
