Big information came out about Rajasthan Royals during IPL 2026. Now the franchise has got new owners. The Mittal family, known as the Kings of Steel, has taken 75% of Rajasthan Royals in its name. Apart from this, Adar Poonawala, owner of Serum Institute of India, has taken about 18 percent stake in his name.

Lakshmi N Mittal and Aditya Mittal and Adar Poonawala have taken about 93 percent stake in the team. The remaining 7% shares will remain with the current owner Manoj Badale and others. An agreement has been reached regarding this deal. Manoj Badale, the old owner of the franchise, will remain associated with the team. He will act as a link to the past and future for the team.

How much was the deal done for?

According to media reports, this deal has been done for about 1.65 billion dollars (about Rs 15600 crore). This deal will not be limited only to Rajasthan Royals playing in the Indian Premier League, but it will also include the teams of Paarl Royals of SA20 League in South Africa and Barbados Royals of Caribbean Premier League. Simply put, the ownership rights of these two teams will also go to the new owners.

The deal is yet to be approved

As far as it is known, at present this deal is yet to get the approval of BCCI, Competition Council of India (CCI), IPL Governing Council and other regulatory bodies. It was told that this deal will be completed in the third quarter of the financial year 2026.

The deal has been canceled before

Let us tell you that earlier the US-based consortium led by Somani had made an offer of US$ 1.63 billion, but according to reports, it could not pass the due diligence process due to several issues. In this way the previous deal was canceled and with the new deal the franchise has got new owners.
