Kerala Assembly Elections Richest candidate: While the political contest is intensifying in the Kerala Assembly elections 2026, the property of the candidates has also become a big topic of discussion. The affidavits filed during nomination have revealed that many candidates own properties worth crores. At the top of this list is the name of Rajiv Chandrashekhar, who is the candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party.

Rajeev Chandrashekhar is the richest candidate

Rajeev Chandrashekhar is contesting from Nemom seat of Thiruvananthapuram. He has declared his total assets to be around Rs 93.88 crore. Of this, approximately Rs 78.81 crore is in the form of movable assets i.e. cash, investments and other assets. The rest is his immovable property.

Other big candidates are also millionaires

Many other big leaders with assets worth crores are also contesting in this election. Indian Union Muslim League leader P.K. Kunhalikutty has declared assets worth around Rs 3.04 crore and is contesting from Malappuram seat. After him is the name of Ramesh Chennithala (Congress) whose assets are worth Rs 2.65 crore.

Senior Congress leader V.D. Satheesan has assets worth about Rs 1.01 crore. Whereas CPM leader R. Bindu is the owner of property worth Rs 2.14 crore.

Property of CM and other leaders

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has declared his assets to be around Rs 1.01 crore. Whereas Kerala Congress (M) leader Jose K. Mani has assets worth approximately Rs 2.09 crore.

Apart from this, CPM’s K. N. Balagopal (1.94 crore), BJP’s Shobha Surendran (about 1.94 crore) and Kerala Congress (M)’s Roshi Augustine (1.84 crore) are also included in this list.

CPI leader K. Rajan has declared assets worth about Rs 80.42 lakh, which is less than other big leaders.

issue of property vs politics

The assets of the candidates are always in the news during elections. This helps in understanding what is the financial condition of the leaders and with what kind of resources they are contesting the elections. Even in the Kerala Assembly elections 2026, it is clearly visible that the number of millionaire candidates in politics is continuously increasing.

Once again the film ‘The Kerala Story’ is in discussion. This time the film is making a lot of headlines regarding its sequel. In this, a Hindu girl is being forced to eat beef. A Kerala minister has given a controversial statement on this. It says that when you eat cow dung, we in Kerala will eat beef, mutton and chicken.

The film was made to spread hatred in the society

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had criticized the film. In this, he added his voice to the criticism that arose after the release of the film’s trailer. Raising questions, the CM had said that the film has been made with the aim of spreading division and hatred in the society. How can poisonous things be shown at such a time? Earlier, a film was not allowed to be shown in a film festival because of its beefy title.

Vijayan said that we have to together maintain the religious harmony of Kerala. We are ahead in sustainable development. It is an excellent model of law and order. Attempts to show it as the center of terrorism should be rejected.

Apart from this, he appealed to the people of Kerala that this is the responsibility of all of us. The secular foundation of Kerala should not be weakened by false propaganda. It should be rejected while maintaining the values of secularism and brotherhood.

Criticism regarding the film on social media

Here, a lot of criticism is being seen on social media regarding the scenes of the film. It says that they are completely away from reality. Many women have posted videos of themselves eating beef and paratha. It is said that the film is meant for a woman from another part of the country.

Actor Prakash Raj has posted on social media on this matter. He shared pictures of pork, beef and fish dishes in his post. The real Kerala story written on it is how pork, beef and fish coexist with vegetarians. They all live together. Please just enjoy #Justasking. Happy Sunday everyone.

Film maker Anurag Kashyap termed this as propaganda. He said who feeds beef like this? No one even serves khichdi like this. Apart from this, leftist organizations DYFI and SFI have organized beef festivals. Beef and paratha are served in it.

Leftist leader said – the film should be put in the septic tank

On this entire issue, CPM MP John Brittas alleged that the film is part of a political attempt to divide voters and defame Kerala before the elections. This is a propaganda film. Instead of watching it in a theatre, it should be thrown into a septic tank.

Congress also surrounded the central government

Meanwhile, Congress leader KC Venugopal has said that the aim of the film is to insult and communally divide Kerala by creating false stories about forcing the people of Kerala to eat beef. The BJP led central government is promoting such campaigns.

BJP hit back

Here, BJP has retaliated on the allegations of opposition leaders. Rajiv Chandrashekhar accused Chief Minister Vijayan of adopting double standards and giving selective meaning to freedom of speech. He said that if someone makes a film about love jihad, then where is the freedom of speech and Article 19? I don’t know what to say about this Chief Minister?
