Politics has intensified regarding the statement of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. BJP had earlier expressed strong opposition to his statement advising BJP leaders to keep their sons away from politics. In particular, senior leader Rajendra Rathod countered this and raised questions on Gehlot regarding ‘putra moha’ and the decisions of the Congress government.

Now Ashok Gehlot himself has given his clarification on this entire controversy and has given a direct answer to BJP. Gehlot made it clear that his statement was misrepresented.

He said, “I said to keep my sons away from the government. I did not say to keep them away from politics. I had given a separate house to my son on rent, he lived separately and did not live in the Chief Minister’s residence.”

Gave open advice to family to enter politics

Gehlot also made it clear in his statement that he is not against family members coming into politics. He openly advised BJP leaders to bring forward their family members.

He said, “I would like to tell the Chief Minister and all the ministers, BJP, bring your family members forward. Be it son, daughter, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, anyone, bring them forward. If they come forward, whatever is within them, the new generation will also benefit.”

Also advised to respect the opposition

Gehlot also taught BJP a lesson in democratic decorum on this issue. He said that the opposition’s questions should be answered and not attacked. He said, “Therefore, BJP should at least learn to respect the opposition. If they raise any questions, answer them. This is what the public expects from you.”

Controversy increased over statements in politics

In fact, BJP had given a sharp reaction to Gehlot’s original statement, linking it to nepotism. But now Gehlot himself has come forward and made it clear that his intention was not to keep away from politics, but to advise to maintain distance from the functioning of the government.
