Rajpal Yadav became emotional

Even while surrendering, Rajpal Yadav became emotional. He also said- Sir, what to do, I don’t have money. There are no friends, there is no solution. We are alone. We have to deal with difficult times ourselves.

Actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya had also told that there used to be a food stall at Rajpal Yadav’s house. He had said, ‘All our friends used to meet there. Used to cook food at his house only. That was a time. At that time we were not worried about tomorrow.

There have been reports of actor Rajpal Yadav surrendering in Tihar Jail at 4 pm on Thursday. There was an order of Delhi High Court, after which Rajpal Yadav surrendered before the jail authorities today. Delhi HC had rejected Rajpal Yadav’s application.

Rajpal Yadav surrendered

Delhi High Court had directed Rajpal Yadav to surrender at 4 pm on Wednesday, but he did not surrender on Wednesday. According to Tihar Jail sources, he surrendered on Thursday. The court had said- You had said that you are in Bombay, so you were given two days time to surrender. Now it doesn’t seem like there is any support left. There is no reason to show leniency

Court rejected Rajpal Yadav’s application

Let us tell you that in the application, a demand was made to extend the time to surrender before the jail authorities in the check bounce case. Rajpal Yadav was convicted in this case in 2024. The sentence was pronounced. The bench of Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma said, ‘I had already rejected your application and had given two days’ time to surrender.’

Rajpal Yadav’s lawyer said that if he gets one week’s time, he will make the payment. If the application is rejected, he will surrender. He has made arrangements of Rs 50 lakh. He has also given me the proof. He will bring money.

It is known that Rajpal Yadav had assured to pay a total of Rs 2.5 crore, which included installments of Rs 40 lakh and Rs 2.10 crore. But despite the stipulated time limit, no amount was deposited.

Talking about Rajpal Yadav’s work front, he will be seen in the films Bhoot Bangla and Welcome to the Jungle. Shooting of both the films is going on.

Delhi High Court ordered actor Rajpal Yadav to surrender before the concerned jail superintendent by 4 pm on 4th February. The court said that repeatedly violating assurances given regarding payment in check bounce cases is very serious and this conduct is condemnable.

Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma said during the hearing that the actor was given many opportunities. But he broke the trust of the court every time. Rajpal Yadav and his wife had challenged the sentence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The lower court had sentenced both of them to six months simple imprisonment.

Rajpal Yadav did not deposit the amount

The court said that the sentence was suspended in June 2024, so that both the parties could explore the possibility of a mutual agreement. After this the matter was sent for mediation. Rajpal Yadav had assured to pay a total of Rs 2.5 crore, which included installments of Rs 40 lakh and Rs 2.10 crore. But despite the stipulated time limit, no amount was deposited.

The court also said that the argument of typographical error in the draft is not credible, because despite being aware of the mistake, neither the amount was deposited nor any clarification application was given. The actor failed to make the payment even after being given a last chance in January 2026.

The court clearly said that after continuous disobedience of orders, no more concessions can be given. However, in the interest of justice, the actor has been given time till 4 pm on February 4 to surrender. This relief was given on the request of his lawyer, who said that the actor is busy with professional work in Mumbai.

Also, the court ordered to release the already deposited amount to the complainant company Murali Projects Private Limited. The next hearing of the case will be on 5 February 2026, in which a compliance report has been sought from the Jail Superintendent.
