Amidst the war with Iran, Israel has closed Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest mosques of Muslims, for the last 16 days. In the month of Ramadan, many Muslim countries of the world have expressed their displeasure regarding this decision. The Arab League, an organization of Arab countries, strongly condemned Israel’s decision on Sunday (15 March 2026). The organization said that Israel has no right to stop Muslims from worshiping in the mosque and this is a violation of international law.

According to the report of Middle East Eye, the Arab League said in the statement that such action can have a serious impact on regional and global peace and security. An appeal was also made to the international community to put pressure on Israel to stop alleged illegal actions at the holy sites of Jerusalem.

Longest closure in Ramadan after 1967

Israel has taken the decision at a time when Israel has closed the Al-Aqsa Mosque located in occupied East Jerusalem since the Iran War started on February 28. According to Palestinian officials, this closure is considered to be the longest during Ramadan since Israel’s occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967. At the same time, only about 50 worshipers are being allowed to worship in the Ibrahimi Mosque located in the occupied West Bank.

Israel cited security reasons

Israel says that this step has been taken due to regional war and security threat. According to him, there remains a threat of missile attacks from Iran. Due to the closure of the mosque, the Al-Aqsa complex is almost empty. Thousands of Palestinian Muslims have to offer namaz on the streets and near the walls of the old city. Important prayers like Lailatul Qadr and Itikaf have also been affected due to the closure of mosques in the last ten days of Ramzan.

Many countries and organizations condemned

Apart from the Arab League, many Muslim countries and organizations have also criticized this move. Islamic organizations, Muslim World League, Al-Azhar, African Union and Arab League have called it a violation of international law and an attack on religious freedom. The Palestinian Authority has called it the longest captivity since 1967, while Hamas has called it a move akin to a declaration of war.

Ramadan 2026: Since the advent of the month of Ramadan, the fasting people are becoming rich by the grace of Allah. The cycle of blessings and blessings continues unabated. Namaz is being offered diligently in mosques and homes. Recitation of Quran-e-Pak continues. Ashra of Magfirat is going to end on the evening of Tuesday 10th March. After this the beginning of freedom from hell will begin. I’tikaf for ten days will be performed in the last Ashra. Which will start from Tuesday evening. On the eve of Shabe Qadr, prayers will be kept awake during the nights. On Monday, the 19th fast was completed in worship of Allah.

Hafiz Razi Ahmed Barkati, teacher of Barkati Maktab, Old Gorakhpur, said that the night of Shabe Qadr will fall on Tuesday 10th March (21st), Thursday 12th March (23rd), Saturday 14th March (25th), Monday 16th March (27th) and Wednesday 18th March (29th). We should respect those nights and pray a lot.

Imam Hafiz Aftab Alam of Shahi Masjid Takiya Kawaldah told that regarding Shabe Qadr, Allah Almighty says that ‘Surely We revealed the Quran in Shab Qadr. ‘Shabe Qadr is better than a thousand months’ i.e. the reward for worshiping in Shab Qadr is greater than the reward for praying for a thousand months.

Imam Hafiz Rahmat Ali Nizami of Sabjaposh House Masjid Jafra Bazar said that I’tikaf will start in all the mosques of the city from the evening of Tuesday, March 10. I’tikaf (staying for worship in the mosque) of the last Ashra (last ten days) of Ramzanul Mubarak is Sunnah Muakkada Alal Kifaya, that is, if one person does it in the local mosque, then it is done on behalf of everyone and if even one person does not do it, then everyone will be guilty. However, it is the moral responsibility of the entire community to take care of the needs of the person participating in Itikaf. Women can perform Itikaf at home. He should select a part of the house and perform I’tikaf there. It is said in the Hadith that the one who performs I’tikaf gets the reward of Hajj and Umrah.

Using black Hijab is Haraam: Ulama Kiram

The series of questions and answers continued on Monday on Ramzan helpline numbers 8604887862, 9598348521, 9956971232, 7860799059.

Question: If the picture of a bird i.e. pigeon, parrot or peacock on the wall is facing Qibla, then how is it to offer namaz in front of it?
answer: It is Makruh to offer Namaz inside a room where a picture of a living being is hung, whether it is above or below, in front, on the right or on the left. The most groaning is in the picture which is in front of the namazi facing Qibla, then the one that is hanging over the head of the namazi, then the one on his right, then the one on his left and the least groaning is in the one that is behind the namazi on some wall etc.

Question: What is the ruling on namaz for someone who wears black hijab?
answer: It is Haraam to use black Hijab and Namaz behind such a person is Makruh Tahrimi, it is Wajib to offer it again.

Question: How to offer Namaz with closed eyes?
answer: If it is to gain affection then it is justified.

Different traditions of Ramadan: The month of Ramadan is considered very holy in the religion of Islam. It is celebrated in Muslim countries around the world. Although the purpose of this festival is the same – worshiping God, fasting and self-restraint, the way of celebrating it is slightly different in every country.

More than two billion Muslims live around the world and they speak different languages. In such a situation, Ramadan is adapted to the local culture and traditions in every part. Let us know about the special Ramadan traditions of some Muslim countries.

UAE tradition of ‘Haq Al Laila’

In the United Arab Emirates, a special event called ‘Haq Al Laila’ is held before Ramadan. It is celebrated in the middle of the month of Shaban. On this day, children wear traditional clothes and go from door to door in the locality, singing songs and collecting sweets.

Apart from this, a popular song is sung, ‘Atuna Allah Yatikum, Bait Makkah Yidikum’ which means that Allah will reward the giver and give him the opportunity to travel to Mecca. This tradition promotes happiness and a sense of social connectedness in children.

The tradition of chandeliers and torches in Egypt

The month of Ramadan is very special in Egypt. Ramadan is recognized by decorating markets, roads and houses with colorful lights and using Fanus i.e. traditional lanterns.

It is believed that during the Fatimid period, lanterns were lit on the streets of Cairo to welcome a ruler. Since then this tradition became associated with Ramadan.

‘Meshaarti’ is also a special tradition in Egypt. This person works to wake people up at night for Suhoor. He roams the streets calling people by name, so that they can eat food before starting the fast.

Typical dishes and traditional clothes in Morocco

Ramadan in Morocco is linked to local flavors and traditions. Special dishes like Harira Soup, Tanjia and Rafisa are prepared in Iftar.

Here people wear traditional clothes and men wear Jubba or Gandoura. While women wear kaftan. During Ramadan in Morocco, along with the religious atmosphere, the cultural color is also clearly visible.

Ramadan in Indonesia a chance for purification and remembrance of ancestors

In Indonesia, a tradition called Padusan is performed before Ramadan. People take bath in natural lake or holy water. The Muslim people there believe that this purifies the body and mind and marks a good beginning of the holy month.

Another tradition is Nyadran. Family members visit the graves of their deceased relatives and pray. They carry food and some fruits, which are then distributed among themselves. It is also a symbol of brotherhood and respect.

Iftar cannon in Lebanon

The tradition of Midfa Al Iftar i.e. Iftar Cannon is quite popular in Lebanon. After the end of Roza, people are signaled for Iftar by firing a cannon. This tradition can be seen in many countries of the Middle East, but it has got special recognition in Lebanon.

The purpose of Ramadan is the same all over the world, but every country has adopted it according to its culture. At some places, lanterns scatter light, and at other places, iftar is announced with the sound of cannon. This diversity gives Ramzan a special identity at the global level.

Ramadan 2026: The sixth fast of Ramadan was observed on Tuesday 24th February. In the holy month of Ramadan, worship continues in mosques and homes. Recitation of Quran-e-Pak continues. Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar are on everyone’s lips. Kalma is being read with exercise.

Durood-o-Salaam is being offered at the shrine of Prophet-e-Islam Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. The servants of Allah are thanking Allah by fasting during the day and offering Taraweeh prayers at night.

Everyone had Sehri on Tuesday morning. Prayers were held throughout the day and Iftar started being prepared in homes from noon. Iftar was ready by evening. Delicious dishes were decorated on Dastarkhwan. Everyone prayed together. At the appointed time, everyone broke the fast together and thanked Allah. Crowds are gathering in mosques and madrassas for Taraweeh namaz.

Dahi Bada is being sold in Turkmanpur, royal piece, Shahi Kheer and Biryani

After the end of Isha and Taraweeh prayers, shopping for Sehri items starts. Markets and Muslim localities like Turkmanpur, Zahida Bad, Rasoolpur, Nakhas etc. remain lively till late night. Biryani, Shahi Kheer, Shahi Tukda, Irani Curd are being sold in abundance at Ismaili Dastarkhwan shop in Turkmanpur. Big curd is available for thirty rupees. Two pieces of curd are enough in a box. Hundred boxes of Dahi Vada are being prepared and sold every day. Apart from this, there is also demand for biryani etc.

Hafiz Ashraf Raza and Hafiz Saif Ali, who run Ismaili Dastarkhwan, told that the shop is opening from 11 am in the morning and there is a crowd of people till 1 am in the night. Apart from this, many other items including dates, chips, bread are also being sold at their shop. In Turkmanpur, Zahida Bad, Nakhas, all types of rotis, biryani, chicken bars, kebabs etc. are attracting people tremendously. Even after having tea, people are staying busy till late night.

Sins will be forgiven by praying during the nights of Ramadan: Maulana Mahmood

Imam of Chistiya Masjid Bakshipur, Maulana Mahmood Raza Qadri told that Allah Almighty said in the Quran-e-Pak, “O you who believe, fasting has been made obligatory for you, just as it was made obligatory for the previous ones, so that you may attain piety.” A Muslim changes his eating, drinking, sleeping and waking hours for one month in a year only for the pleasure of Allah. Whoever, out of faith and for the sake of reward, performs Qayam (stay awake and prays) during the nights of Ramadan, his previous sins are forgiven. Spend the morning and evening of Ramadan in the remembrance of Allah and the Prophet. help others. Be kind and invite others to be kind.

Need to pay special attention to food during Ramadan: Dr. Mubassir Ali

Dr. Mubassir Ali said that there is a need to pay special attention to food during Ramadan. Eat such things which give strength to the body. Eat dates, fruits and simple food. Drink plenty of plain water. Avoid eating fried foods. It is thanks to Allah that He has given us a great blessing like fasting. Not only did Sehri be allowed, but it also contained many rewards for us. There is blessings in Sehri. Eating and drinking is not allowed during Fajr Azaan. Whether there is Azaan or not, whether the voice reaches you or not, you will have to stop eating and drinking completely as soon as you do Sadiq in the morning. No one should misunderstand that Sehri is a condition for fasting. It’s not like that. Roza can be observed even without Sehri. But it is not right to deliberately not do Sehri. It is deprived of a wonderful Sunnah and it should also be remembered that it is not necessary to eat a lot during Sehri. Even if a few dates and water are consumed without any intention, the Sunnah will be fulfilled.

Fast will be broken due to Haj: Ulama Kiram

The series of questions and answers continued on Tuesday on Ramzan helpline numbers 8604887862, 9598348521, 9956971232, 7860799059. The scholars replied in the light of Quran and Hadith.

Question: If menstruation occurs while fasting, what is the ruling on it?
answer: If a woman gets hay fever at any time before Maghrib while fasting, then the fast will become fasid (broken) due to it and it will be necessary to keep the fast after it becomes pure.

Breaking the ceasefire agreement signed in Doha, Pakistan once again carried out air strikes at 7 places in Afghanistan at midnight. Pakistan started these attacks around 12:30 in the night, in which the first attack took place on the Madrasa located in Barmal city of Paktika province of Afghanistan.

After the missile attack by the Pakistani Air Force, the debris of the Madrasa is visible everywhere. Also, after the attack by the Pakistani Army in the month of Ramzan, the religious books kept in the Madrasa were also destroyed, which the local people were seen showing after the attack. Apart from Barmal in Paktika province, Pakistani army also carried out air strikes on Urgun, Khogyani, Ghani Khel, Behsud city and two cities of Khosht.

This is Pakistan’s fourth air attack on Afghanistan since September last year and this is Pakistan’s second air attack on Afghanistan after the ceasefire declared by Qatar and Turkey in October 2025.

What did Pakistan say about the attacks
Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a statement claiming that Pakistan has attacked a total of 7 camps of Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) and ISKP located in Afghanistan. Also, according to Pakistan, be it the terrorist attack on Imambargah in Islamabad or Bajaur or today in Bannu, all this was done by their handlers sitting in Afghanistan, due to which Pakistan has carried out attacks in Afghanistan.

Suicide attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In Bannu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan, Majlis Aksari Caravan, the proxy group of Tehreek-e-Taliban, carried out a suicide attack on a Pakistani army vehicle using a motorcycle. In which 4 soldiers including Lieutenant Colonel Shahzada of Pakistani Army were killed. Last Thursday, TTP attacked the post of Pakistani paramilitary force Frontier Corps located in Malang Madrasa in Mamund tehsil of Bajaur district, in which 14 soldiers were killed.

Afghan government’s reaction
There is currently no response from the Afghan government on the Pakistani attacks. In such a situation, it has to be seen what truth Afghanistan tells about Pakistani air strikes because even before this, from September to November, Pakistan had carried out three air strikes in Afghanistan in the name of attacking TTP positions. In this, instead of terrorists, 71 innocent Afghan civilians were killed, which included players of Afghanistan’s domestic cricket team, apart from 18 children and 27 elderly people.

As soon as the month of Ramadan begins, the markets become lively, mosques get crowded and the fragrance of Iftar spreads in every street, but just imagine, what would Ramadan have been like when India was ruled by the Mughals? Did the emperor also fast like the common people? Was there the same peace of worship in the royal palaces or was only grandeur visible there? The pages of history give interesting answers to these questions.

The splendor of Ramadan in the royal era

During the Mughal period, Ramadan was not only a religious month but also an important part of social and cultural life. This month was given special respect in the royal court. Palaces were decorated with lights, Quran was recited in mosques and large scale donations were made for the poor. At that time, as soon as it was time to break the fast, a cannon was fired to give a signal to the city. Due to this, the entire city would know the time of Iftar simultaneously. It is said that at the beginning of Ramadan, an 11-gun salute was given to welcome the holy month.

During the late Mughal era, a procession was taken out from the Red Fort to Jama Masjid on the occasion of the last Friday of Ramadan, which is called the farewell prayer. It was not only religious but also considered a symbol of social unity.

Shahi Iftar and social equality

Mughal emperors used to give grand feasts during Iftar, but their purpose was not just to show off grandeur, but to ensure that no poor remained hungry. In the royal kitchen, different dishes were prepared for Sehri and Iftar – rotis, vegetables, kebabs, sweets and various types of sherbets were made. According to historians, common people, courtiers, soldiers and the needy all participated in these feasts. It is considered an example of social equality, where the rich and the poor used to sit together and break their fast.

Babar’s Iftar

Babar, the founder of the Mughal Sultanate, has mentioned religious discipline in his autobiography ‘Baburnama’. Brought up in Central Asian traditions, Babur fasted during Ramadan and made time for prayers even in the midst of war. His iftar was simple. He also inspired the soldiers to follow discipline and religious duties. His habits included distributing food and money among the poor.

Humayun used to spend time in prayer

Humayun was interested in astrology and Sufi thoughts. During Ramadan, he used to reduce the formal programs of the court, so that more time could be spent in worship. He himself used to recite the Quran and have religious discussions with the Ulemas. Lighting lamps in the shrines of Sufi saints and organizing special feasts were the special features of his era.

How was Akbar’s Ramadan?

Akbar’s attitude was broad and generous even during Ramadan. He used to fast during the middle period of his life and ordered to reduce the noise in the palace so that the atmosphere remains calm. Akbar used to distribute charity on a large scale. Food and clothes were given to thousands of people. Special prayers were offered in the mosques of Fatehpur Sikri. He used to distribute grains and money to help the poor and travelers.

Jahangir used to stay away from alcohol

Jahangir’s name is associated with art and luxury, but he also followed discipline during Ramadan. In his autobiography ‘Tuzuk-e-Jahangiri’ he has written that he used to completely abstain from alcohol during this month. Music and entertainment programs were stopped in the palace. Dates, sherbet, fruits and light food were served in Iftar. He used to take advice from Ulema and maintain a religious atmosphere.

Shahjahan’s pride and charity

The royal culture was at its peak during the era of Shahjahan. A glimpse of this was visible even in Ramzan. After the construction of Jama Masjid, the importance of special worship there increased. Shahjahan himself used to observe fasts and distribute grains, clothes and silver coins among the poor. There was a special celebration of lights and prayers on the night of Shab-e-Qadr. Although the Iftar feasts were grand, he himself preferred simple food.

Aurangzeb’s simplicity

Aurangzeb is counted among the most strict religious rulers. During Ramadan, he used to fast for the whole month and offer long prayers. The work of the court was limited. It is said that he wrote and sold a copy of the Quran himself and donated the money received from it. His iftar was very simple – dates, roti, dal and sometimes light non-vegetarian food. Music and festivals almost stopped.

The BJP government of Chhattisgarh has taken a big decision regarding Ramzan. During Ramadan, government Muslim employees have been allowed to leave office one hour before the scheduled time. General Administration Department issued the order. This order will be applicable to employees of government offices as well as semi-government offices and municipal boards.

The holy month of Ramzan has started from Thursday (February 19) after confirmation of moon sighting in the entire country including Chhattisgarh. It is believed that Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, in which people of the Muslim community observe and pray daily from morning to evening.

Ramadan is a very holy month for the Muslim community.

Ramadan is considered the month of Rahmat i.e. mercy, Magfirat i.e. forgiveness and Najaat i.e. liberation. The tradition of Iftar and Sehri was especially observed in the Muslim community during Ramadan. During this time people also donate to the poor. Apart from reading Quran and Namaz, emphasis is given on charity and social harmony. It is believed that if someone observes thirty fasts of Ramadan with complete devotion, then Allah forgives all the sins of that person.

Ramadan the month of goodness and blessings

People of the Muslim community believe that the first part of this happy month of Ramadan is mercy, the second is forgiveness and the third is the path to salvation. Overall, it is considered a very auspicious month for worship. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while wishing the people a day before the first fast of Ramzan, gave the message of harmony and brotherhood. He wrote in one of his posts on the social media platform ‘X’, “Ramadan Mubarak.” May this holy month further increase the feeling of unity in our society. May there be peace and prosperity everywhere.
