The much awaited trailer of ‘Ramayana’ was scheduled to be released on July 24 and the film was to be presented globally at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. However, a few hours before the scheduled time, producer Namit Malhotra announced that the trailer launch has been postponed. However, the makers have now decided to partner with Sony Pictures Entertainment and release it at a later date.

Let us tell you that the film’s producer Namit Malhotra wrote on Instagram, “Today is a very special moment for our Ramayana. With our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, my dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now coming true. Keeping this in mind, we will now launch our trailer globally at a later date.”

He further wrote, “This will be a great moment of pride in the more than 100-year history of Indian cinema, when Ramayana will be shown across the world like a big Hollywood film. This is also special because it will open the way for people around the world to know the richness of our culture and our stories with new pride and enthusiasm.”

Namit Malhotra further wrote in his post, “I thank all those fans and those who believe in Ramayana who made this possible. The youth of our country are our future. Let us do whatever we can to secure our future. Jai Hind.” This post of Namit has gone viral on social media. While fans were eagerly waiting for the trailer launch of Ramayan today, the announcement of this partnership has made them excited.

Why was the trailer of ‘Ramayana’ postponed?
Although Namit Malhotra did not directly explain why the trailer launch was delayed, the announcement came amid the ongoing CJP-led student protests in India. There is speculation on social media regarding the timing of this statement that in view of the current situation, the makers have decided to postpone the online launch.

Two trailers will be released
According to the information available on the CBFC website, the trailer of Ramayana has received ‘U’ (Universal) certificate, which means that it is for audiences of all ages. This certificate was issued on 15 July. CBFC records also show that the makers have two versions of the trailer. While the standard version has a runtime of 4 minutes and 15 seconds, the theatrical cut is slightly shorter and runs exactly 4 minutes.

when will it be released

Earlier in April this year, on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, the team had released an introductory teaser titled ‘Rama’. The first glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram was shown in this 2 minutes 38 seconds long teaser. Planned as a two-part cinematic saga, ‘Ramayana’ will be released in IMAX worldwide, with the first part releasing in theaters in Diwali 2026, followed by the second chapter in Diwali 2027.
