Ramayana is among those films of the year 2026 for which the audience is eagerly waiting. Every day some such news comes about this film starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, it creates a big blast. Now another big news related to the film has surprised everyone. Just four months before its release, Ramayan has created history in terms of theatrical distribution deal. The film has earned Rs 350 crore even before its release.

‘Ramayana’ gets the biggest theatrical distribution deal

On July 7, there were reports regarding the big budget Ramayana that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has acquired the Indian theatrical rights of Ramayana for a huge amount of Rs 250 crore. However, after this Bollywood Hungama reported in its report that this deal was done not for Rs 250 crore, but for Rs 350 crore. With this, Ramayana has proved to be the film with the biggest theatrical distribution deal till date.

‘Ramayana’ beats ‘King’

Ramayana has also defeated Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘King’ in this matter. Shahrukh Khan’s multi-starrer film King will be released on 24 December 2026. According to reports, the rights of this film were reportedly sold for Rs 250 crore. However, Ramayana has gone a long way in breaking this record.

‘Ramayana’ will be released in two parts

Ramayana is being made in two parts. Its first part will be released on Diwali 2026 i.e. on 6th November and the second part will be released on Diwali of 2027. The surprising thing is that the total budget of both the parts is Rs 4 thousand crores. That means this is the most expensive film of India.

While Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Shri Ram in Ramayana, South actress Sai Pallavi will be seen in the role of Mother Sita. While Kannada star Yash will be seen in the role of Ravana, Sunny Deol will be seen in the role of Hanuman ji and actor Ravi Dubey will be seen in the role of Laxman. The film is being directed by Nitesh Tawari and its producer is Namit Malhotra.
