Ramnagar Dehradun Express Train: Taking a big step towards strengthening the rail connectivity between Kumaon and Garhwal divisions of Uttarakhand, the Railway Ministry has approved the operation of Ramnagar-Dehradun-Ramnagar bi-weekly express. With the start of the new train, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts will have direct rail connectivity with the state capital Dehradun. This rail service was being demanded for a long time, which has now been approved.

It has been told that after the demand of the regional public and the efforts of Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni, the Railway Ministry has decided to operate this new express train. This will be the first express train running between Ramnagar and Dehradun.

Train will run two days a week

According to the Railway Ministry, 15310/15309 Ramnagar-Dehradun-Ramnagar Express will be operated every Wednesday and Friday. This train will leave from Ramnagar at 5:50 am and reach Dehradun at 12:40 pm. In return, it will leave from Dehradun at 3:55 pm and reach Ramnagar at 11:30 pm. This will provide the facility to the passengers to go to Dehradun and return after completing their work in the same day.

With the start of the new rail service, apart from Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar and Dehradun, passengers of Moradabad and Bijnor districts of Uttar Pradesh will also get better transportation facilities. Now people of Ramnagar and surrounding areas will be able to go to the capital Dehradun and complete government, educational and other important work in a single day.

The new express train is also expected to give impetus to the tourism sector of Uttarakhand. Tourists coming to Jim Corbett National Park located in Ramnagar will get better rail facilities. Apart from this, it will also be easy to reach religious and historical places like Girija Devi Temple, Sitavani (Sitamarhi). On the other hand, the devotees reaching Dehradun and Haridwar will also get the facility to travel further for Chardham Yatra to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Long standing demand of the area fulfilled

The demand for a direct express train between Ramnagar and Dehradun was being raised for a long time. Till now, passengers had to change trains many times or resort to road. After the start of the new rail service, the rail connectivity between Kumaon and Garhwal will be further strengthened and the social, economic, educational and tourism activities of the state are also expected to get new momentum.
