Amazing has happened in Ranji Trophy, Akash Kumar Chaudhary has scored the fastest half-century in the history of first-class cricket. Meghalaya vs Arunachal Pradesh match is being played in Ranji Trophy, in which Akash Kumar created history by completing fifty in just 11 balls. Akash has achieved this feat while playing for Meghalaya.

Akash has broken the record of England’s Wayne White, who scored a half-century in 12 balls against Essex while playing for Leicestershire in 2012. This stormy innings of Akash not only broke the record, he also stunned the spectators present in the ground. Akash came to bat at number 8, completing his fifty in 11 balls. In international cricket, Yuvraj Singh has scored a fifty in 12 balls for India, but this half-century has come in red ball cricket (first-class).

Scored 628 runs in the first innings

Meghalaya declared the first innings at 628/8 against Arunachal Pradesh. Arpit Bhatewara scored a double century and played an innings of 207 runs. Captain Kishan Lyngdoh scored 119 runs and Rahul Dalal scored 144 runs. Ajay Duhan scored 53 runs and Akash Kumar scored 50 runs. Meanwhile, there was a partnership of 289 runs between Kishan Lyngdoh and Arpit Bhatewara.

Let us tell you that this is not just Ranji Trophy, it is a record for scoring the fastest half-century in first-class cricket in the world. Earlier, the record of scoring the fastest fifty for India in first-class cricket was in the name of Bandeep Singh, who scored a half-century in 15 balls while playing for Jammu and Kashmir. He did this in the 2015-16 Ranji season. But now after 9 years, Akash has broken his record.

A new history has been written in Ranji Trophy. Assam and Services have become the shortest ending match in Ranji history. This was the shortest Ranji Trophy match in its 63-year history, which ended in just 90 overs. Riyan Parag gave a tremendous all-round performance in this match, yet he could not stop Services from registering an 8 wicket victory. This was Services’ second consecutive win in the 2025-26 season.

The match ended in just 90 overs

Assam batted 17.2 overs in the first innings, in which it could score only 103 runs. The condition of the Services team was also very bad, but somehow, thanks to Irfan Khan’s inning of 51 runs, it scored 108 runs. Services played 29.2 overs in the first innings. The two innings were over in just 46.4 overs.

When Assam’s second innings came, it batted 29.3 overs, but this time it could score only 75 runs. Services got the target of 71 runs on the basis of a lead of five runs in the first innings. Services achieved this small target by losing two wickets in just 13.5 overs. The entire match ended in exactly 90 overs, which is equal to 540 balls.

25 wickets fell on the first day and the remaining 7 wickets fell in the morning session of the second day. Earlier, the match which ended in the fewest balls was played between Delhi and Railways in 1962, which ended in 547 balls.

Assam lost, but Riyan Parag shined

Riyan Parag plays for Assam in domestic cricket. In the first innings he played an innings of 36 runs in 31 balls. When it came to bowling, he played an important role in reducing Services to 108 runs by taking 5 wickets. He could score only 12 runs in the second innings, but Riyan Parag also took both the wickets in the second innings of Services. Along with scoring 48 runs in the entire match, he also took 7 wickets.
