A press conference was held by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). During this, Ashok Pandit talked about the controversy of ‘Don 3’ and Ranveer Singh. And said, ‘Farhan Akhtar had filed a complaint with us. He filed a complaint against Ranveer Singh and clearly stated that Ranveer Singh exited the film at the last moment, about 3 weeks before the shooting of the film started. Whereas all the preparations were done and the unit was also about to leave for shooting. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh left the film.

Along with this, a meeting of the concerned parties was called by FWICE to hear the case. During this, Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani told that so far around Rs 45 crores have been spent on the pre-production of the film. He said that the sudden withdrawal of a lead actor from such a big project can cause huge financial loss to the producers and the entire planning of the film can be affected.

Ranveer Singh did not respond

Ashok Pandit says, ‘After receiving the complaint, we called Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar to meet. Both of them came. He explained this complaint in detail for 2 hours. Told a lot. He also told that about Rs 45 crore has been spent so far on the pre-production of the film. If the actor leaves the film, he may have to suffer huge losses. The Federation sent a reminder to Ranveer Singh within 10 days of the week. As per the rule, we sent them notice thrice to come but did not get any response from them. After the announcement of the press conference, he sent a mail in which he asked to meet. We are in touch with them. We will try our best to resolve the matter.

‘Non-cooperative directory’ issued against Ranveer Singh

The President of the Federation said, ‘Another letter had come from Ranveer Singh, in which he had said that he wants to meet. We will consider it but at present the system is that when a film is made, thousands of our workers get work. All are already signed. If a film is stopped then there is a big loss. The federation fights for workers and producers. Even if injustice is done to any producer, the Federation stands with him also. So we have thought that if someone is a superstar then he is not above the rules. A message should be sent. We are issuing them ‘non-cooperative directory’ from today onwards.

The Federation President further said, ‘It is our freedom with whom we work and with whom we do not. We request all our craft through you that Ranveer Singh does not talk about meeting with anyone, talks about coming and does not hold meetings with the Federation at personal level. Till then non-cooperative directory issue will remain. Since this is a matter of interest of the producers, I request that the producers also support me.
