Ranveer Singh Journey: Bollywood’s cool actor Ranveer Singh, who is facing the ban of Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) for leaving the film ‘Don 3’, has made everyone his fan with two back to back blockbuster films ‘Dhurandhar’ and then ‘Dhurandhar 2’. Many records were destroyed in the box office tsunami of these films and Ranveer became the new box office king of the film industry. Ranveer, who debuted with ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ 16 years ago, is now counted among the big superstars. He has made a strong stardom. Fans are desperate for a glimpse of him. But, Ranveer’s life was never like this at all. Before becoming an actor, he used to be an assistant director and sometimes he had to do the job as well.

Ranveer Singh’s full name is Ranveer Singh Bhavnani. 40 year old Ranveer had love for the film world from the beginning. But, he did not start his career directly as an actor. During the struggle days, he worked as a copywriter for an advertising agency.

Then became assistant director

Even though Ranveer was working, he knew what his real destination was? Before becoming an actor, he had learned the intricacies of films and acting while working as an assistant director. He assisted director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee’s film ‘Black’ released in 2005.

‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ created noise in Bollywood

Ranveer Singh had auditioned for Aditya Chopra’s film ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’. The makers liked Ranveer’s audition so much that they cast Ranveer for their film. This first film of Ranveer was released in the year 2010. Anushka Sharma was seen opposite him in this. Ranveer had a hit debut in Bollywood. After this he did not look back.

Once again he became the ‘Dhurandhar’ of Bollywood.

After ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, Ranveer made a place in the hearts of fans with films like Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ramleela, Gunde, Bajirao Mastani, Padmavat, Gully Boy and Simmba. But, the film ‘Dhurandhar’ released in December 2025 changed everything for him. This film wreaked such havoc at the ticket window that even critics became fans of Ranveer. After this, ‘Dhurandhar 2’, released in March 2026, also created a huge uproar. It proved to be a blockbuster by earning more than Rs 1354 crore worldwide. While ‘Dhurandhar 2’, which is still running in theatres, has collected Rs 1,812.15 crore at the box office, according to Sacanilc. This is also the second highest grossing film of India.
