The post has been shared by a woman named Komal Porwal, who is a copywriter by profession. She wrote that she was riding Rapido at around 9 pm on Sunday night. Both of them kept talking when Komal asked him, ‘Brother, do you do this full time?’ On this, the driver told that he works as a Swiggy delivery partner in the morning, drives for Rapido in the evening and runs a local street food stall (selling pani puri) with his brother on weekends. That is, so that the family members can live happily and live a comfortable life, hence he keeps collecting money by doing various kinds of work day and night.

Rapido IPO: Rapido, a taxi service providing company, is preparing to enter the stock market soon. It is expected that the IPO of the company may come by the end of next year i.e. 2026. Speaking to news agency PTI, company co-founder Arvind Sanka said that Rapido wants to maintain an annual growth rate of 100 percent in the coming years.

IPO till next year

According to Arvind Sanka, the company’s aim is to become a bigger and stronger company than its nearest competitor before launching the IPO. He said that at present he is focusing on expanding his business further before entering the stock market.

Sanka said that Rapido’s growth rate has been 100 percent continuously in the last two years, and the company wants to maintain this pace for the coming few years. Only after this a concrete decision will be taken on IPO.

NBFC applied for IPO

Incred Holdings, a unit of non-banking financial company (NBFC) Incred Holdings Financial Services, has confidentially applied for its IPO with SEBI. News agency PTI, quoting sources related to the matter, has said that the size of the proposed IPO is estimated to be around Rs 3,000 to 4,000 crore. The company said in a public announcement on Sunday that it has submitted the draft documents related to the proposed IPO of its equity shares to SEBI and the stock exchanges.

InCred Financial Services was established in the year 2016. The company currently operates across the country through a network of more than 140 branches and more than 2,600 employees. Till now the company has served more than four lakh customers and distributed loans worth more than Rs 25,000 crore. A Rapido bike taxi driver in Bengaluru has been accused of molestation by a female passenger. She alleges that the rider had tried to hold her legs during the ride. The woman made a video of this incident and later lodged a complaint with the police.

The woman said in the post, ‘When I was returning to my PG from Church Street, the captain (driver) of Rapido tried to hold my legs while riding the bike. All this happened so suddenly that I could not understand and did not even get time to record. When he did this again, I said brother, what are you doing, don’t do it, but instead of stopping, he did the same again.

The woman said she was in no position to ask the driver to stop the bike as she was at a new place and did not know which way she was on.

Unknown person came forward to help

The woman further said in the video, ‘When I reached my destination, an unknown person saw the situation and asked what happened. When I told him, he confronted the driver. After this, the driver of Rapido apologized to me and said that he will not do this again, but when he started leaving from there, he pointed his finger towards me, after this action of his I started feeling more insecure.

The woman said in her post, ‘I am sharing all this because no woman should have such an experience, neither in a cab, nor on a bike, nor anywhere. This is not the first time something like this has happened to me, but today I could not remain silent because I was feeling extremely unsafe and in a scary situation.

Company’s response to woman’s post

After the woman shared the post on Instagram, Rapido company has also responded. Rapido said, ‘We are extremely sorry to learn of the captain’s inappropriate behavior during your recent ride with us. Your safety and convenience is our biggest priority. Please give us some time to thoroughly investigate this matter. Our team will contact you soon, so that appropriate action can be taken against the Captain involved in this matter.

Ccpa slaps penalty on rapido: The misleading advertisement of bike taxi service Rapido has caused huge damage to the company. Actually, the company was showing this message to the customers – “50 rupees if the auto is not found in five minutes”. But the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has a penalty of Rs 10 lakh on Rapido, considering this claim as a false and misleader.

The Consumer Ministry said on Thursday that the CCPA has ordered Rapido to return an amount of Rs 50 to all the customers who did not get this amount despite the offer.

Not only 50 rupees, only Rapido Coin

Investigation revealed that this claim of Rapido was not actually cash of Rs 50, but was “Rapido Coins up to Rs 50”. They could only be used in bike rides and their validity was only 7 days. In this way consumers were forced to use Rapido’s service again in a short time.

Open polls with increasing complaints

According to data from the National Consumer Helpline, the complaints against Rapido increased to 1,224 between June 2024 and July 2025. Whereas in the earlier 14 months, this number was only 575. The CCPA investigation found that the disclaimers given in advertisements were in such a small letters that it was difficult for customers to read. Obviously, the company deliberately tried to hide the terms and conditions.

Order to stop advertising immediately

The ministry said in its statement, “Such sanctions reduced the importance of the offer and misled consumers.” On this basis, CCPA has instructed Rapido to stop misleading advertisements immediately. The lesson for the common consumers in this is that they must read its conditions and disclaimers before accepting any offer. Auto and taxi unions opposed

Auto and taxi unions say that when they pay commercial tax, insurance, fitness certificate and permit fees, then why should those who run bike taxi get the benefit of this exemption? This is the reason that due to the pressure of the union in Karnataka, the government took tough action and now the Maharashtra government is also taking steps in this direction.

Some state High Courts have already ordered governments to formulate a clear policy for bike taxi services, but till now the progress has been very slow.
