Rashmi Desai is the most popular actress of TV. He has worked in many hit TV shows and has become a household name. Recently, during an interview, the actress spoke openly about the most challenging phase of her life and revealed that she had been struggling with depression for almost eight years.

The actress, who won the hearts of the audience with her powerful acting in serials like ‘Uttaran’ and ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’, told that due to emotional baggage, her mental health was also badly affected but gradually through work she got balance and healing.

Suffered depression for 8 years
In fact, in a recent conversation with Times Now, Rashmi revealed, “There was a time when I was in depression for eight years, it took me time to recover from it. There was a lot of burden on me. It took me many years to reduce everything and start again and now I am back on track. I think you have to decide the highs and lows yourself. No one else decides the journey. Work gives me peace. And this was also my escape world.” Which I got released very late. Now I am able to maintain a beautiful balance on both sides.

The actress further said that she realized much later that work had become her safe space, where she could express her emotions and find stability amidst personal turmoil. Rashmi has also participated in many reality shows like Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6, Nach Baliye 7 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7. She said that now she gives priority to her professional commitments as well as emotional well-being.

What did Rashmi say when she faced casting couch?
In an old interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rashmi had also talked about a very disturbing incident from her early years in the industry, in which she had revealed that she had to face casting couch at the age of 16. Recalling the experience, she said, “I remember I was called for the audition, and when I went there, he tried to make me unconscious. I somehow managed to get out of there and a few hours later, I told everything to my mother.”
