The upcoming film ‘Mirzapur: The Film’ of the popular web series ‘Mirzapur’ is going to be a hit at the box office on 4th September. There is a huge buzz among the fans about this film. Also, everyone is eagerly waiting for it. Meanwhile, Divyendu Sharma, who played the character of ‘Munna Bhaiya’, recently gave a big statement regarding the earnings of the film, which has further increased the curiosity of the fans.

Divyendu gave statement regarding the film

Regarding the film, Divyendu said, ‘It is going to be completely ‘classic’ Mirzapur. We are making a comeback with full force. Once again you will see the same characters in the same form as they were in the first season. The backdrop is exactly the same, but the situations are different. This film is made on a very big and cinematic canvas and is only for the fans.

Regarding the love received for the character of ‘Munna Bhaiya’, he said, ‘Even today I am unable to understand the love that exists in people’s hearts for Munna. Sometimes one wonders whether a character is really living in a parallel world. When my character died in the third season, people were requesting him to come back by making emotional reels with Hindi songs.

He further said, ‘I hope that once again I can do justice to this character. There was a little confusion in my mind whether I should play it afresh or copy it like the first season.

Can the film create history at the box office?

Apart from this, Divyendu said about the buzz around the film and its earnings, ‘This is going to prove to be a big revolution in terms of earnings and revenue streaming. I think everyone’s eyes will be fixed on whether this formula works, so that they too can do the same. Just like when ‘Mirzapur’ came for the first time and no one had expectations from it. I think this film is also on its way to doing something historic.

The web series also created a ruckus

Let us tell you that three seasons of ‘Mirzapur’ web series have been released so far, of which the first season was released in 2018, the second season in 2020 and the third in 2024 on Amazon Prime Video. After this, along with its fourth season, the makers are also working on its upcoming film ‘Mirzapur: The Film’, which can create a stir at the box office. Along with Divyendu, great actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Rasika Duggal will be seen in the film, who created a stir with their acting in the series.

This film was shelved for 3 years and after seeing it one can understand why, otherwise any film starring Saif Ali Khan would surely have failed in the theatres. The hype of this film was also due to Saurabh Dwivedi but he turned out to be the weakest link of this film. We have rarely seen such a light villain. This film is based on a story on which many films and series have been made, then why was it made? What did Netflix buy it for? This is beyond understanding. Obviously, if the name of Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies was associated with it, it got released, otherwise it is not the duty of film makers to make such films.

Story
This is the story of an honest police officer Pawan whose character is played by Saif Ali Khan. Saurabh Dwivedi plays the role of a corrupt leader whom people worship, but he uses their children for wrongdoings. Pawan’s brother falls in love with a girl from another caste and then duty, family, honor killing, all that happens which we have seen thousands of times.

how is the movie
This film is of a completely old type, if it had come 20 years ago it would have been good, it would have been enjoyable, but now it seems even more outdated than outdated. This seems to be why it was created. After having a producer like Shahrukh and an actor like Saif, you expect that something new will happen, something different will happen but it does not happen. The film is very predictable. You know what will happen next, and how it will happen is not surprising. The film is about 2 hours long but at no point do you connect with the film. You don’t feel any thrill, you don’t get emotional, the movie just keeps going on and ends, and you feel that your 2 hours were wasted, this was Netflix and chill.

acting
Saif Ali Khan has done an amazing job, Saif has settled into this desi character. Anyway, when a person like Saif plays a desi character, a different swag is seen in him and it was visible here too, but what could Saif do alone? If the story had been better, Saif would have benefited a lot from this film like he got from Omkara. When Saurabh Dwivedi comes into the frame for the first time, it seems that he is going to do an interview in the audience. He seems to have the same style, he doesn’t look like a villain at all, and acting probably isn’t his zone either. Rasika Duggal has done a very good job. Sanjay Mishra is great, Zakir Hussain looks good, Manish Choudhary impresses a lot.

Writing and Direction
Pulkit has written and directed this story, he has made Bhaskar, expectations from him were very high but here he disappointed. There is nothing new in the story, they should have understood why the audience would watch such a story? Hopefully, he will do something new in his cinema in the future.

Overall, watch it for Saif’s performance otherwise not.

Bollywood actress Rasika Duggal gained a lot of fame with ‘Mirzapur’. She had many intimate scenes with Kulbhushan Kharbanda in the series. Rasika has recently spoken openly about this. The actress has told how intimate scenes were shot on the sets of ‘Mirzapur’. He told that there were intimacy directors for such scenes.

In a recent interview given to Bollywood Bubble, Rasika Duggal talked about intimate scenes. He said- ‘We now have an intimacy coordinator for intimate scenes and this is a very good change. I think it is great to have an intimacy coordinator on the set, just like there is a choreographer for dance and the action sequences are also choreographed. Similarly, there are intimacy coordinators for intimate scenes.

‘This is very technical…’
On the question of how intimate scenes are shot, Rasika said- ‘Just like there are different types of directors, similarly there are different types of intimacy directors who have their own way of working. But this is very technical. Like the workshops we did earlier, we did exercises to understand what was comfortable for the other person and what was not. There is someone to coordinate all this as to what is required for the scene, whether it is a close set or not and they call for a close set.

‘This part of your body will be shown…’
The actress further says – ‘These are all the basic things to make you feel comfortable and then the choreography is done in the same way as in your first rehearsal that the shot will start from here, this part of your body will be shown and whether you are comfortable with it or not and when you move with your co-actor, how will that movement be, all this is discussed and rehearsed very professionally and technically.’

‘We both are very professional…’
Was Kulbhushan Kharbanda comfortable for intimate scenes with Rasika Duggal? On this question, the actress said- ‘There were no intimacy coordinators in Mirzapur Season 1. But this is the special thing about cinema, this scene was shot in such a way that when you go back and watch it, it has been shot in silhouette and technically. So it was not a big deal to do it and both of us are very professional.

‘Delhi Crime Season 3’, directed by Tanuj Chopra, will be released on Netflix on 13 November 2025. Shefali Shah and Rasika Duggal are returning once again to the series.
