Islamic country Pakistan is once again going to sell liquor to the world after many decades. After more than 50 years of ban, Pakistan’s liquor company named Murree Brewery has got permission to export liquor abroad. The production of liquor has increased in the factory located in Rawalpindi. Murree Brewery was started in British India in 1860 for the soldiers. After Pakistan became a separate country, strict rules regarding liquor were made during the time of Zulfikar Bhutto. However, despite all the strict rules, this company is running in Pakistan.

Who is the owner of Murree Brewery?
Mari Brewery is run by Isfanyar Bhandara, who is the third generation of his family to run the business. Pakistani MP Isfanyar comes from the Parsi community. His family has a significant influence in Pakistan’s politics and business. He says that getting permission to export is a matter of great happiness for the company. He said that my grandfather and father tried to get an export license, but they could not get it. After years of lobbying and efforts to remove the export ban, they have achieved significant success.

There is a liquor factory near Munir’s house.
Bhandara told that the red-brick liquor factory of Mari, built in the mountains, is now running in Rawalpindi. This factory is near the house of Army Chief Asim Munir, which is one of the most secure places in Pakistan. Before the export ban, Mari used to sell its products to neighboring India and Afghanistan as well as Gulf countries and America. Bhandara says that currently his aim is to explore new markets and establish his foothold in the world.

How did it start?
Murree Brewery, named after the hill town of Murree in Pakistan, was started during the British era. This is the oldest and largest liquor company of Pakistan. The company produces many beverages like beer, whiskey, vodka and juice. Mari Brewery has been operating for decades in an Islamic country where alcohol is illegal for everyone except non-Muslims.

Let us tell you that Pakistan had banned liquor for Muslims in the 1970s. In such a situation, out of the country’s population of 24 crore, only about 90 lakh people can buy liquor legally.

Pakistan government announced the implementation of Section 144 in Rawalpindi district. This step was taken when rumors regarding the health and presence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan intensified. In the orders issued by District Deputy Commissioner Dr. Hasan Waqar Cheema, it has been clearly stated that no crowd will be allowed to gather in any form during these three days. The administration also made it clear that carrying weapons, roaming around with sticks or any kind of inflammable material, trying to remove police barricades and playing loud speakers will be completely prohibited. There is a ban on even seating of two people on a motorcycle. The government says that they have received confidential inputs which indicate violence and chaos.

Imran Khan is lodged in Adiala jail since August last year. His party alleges that they have neither been allowed to see their leader for more than a month, nor are they being made to talk to him in any verified manner. PTI leaders claim that the government is hiding their condition and that is why the party was preparing for a massive peaceful demonstration, but the administration has already tried to control the situation by banning any kind of rally or meeting.

Statement of Imran Khan’s son

Qasim Khan, who lives abroad, expressed deep concern while speaking to Reuters. He said that there has been no contact with his father for months, nor has the family received any reliable information about him. According to Qasim, this situation has become like mental torture for the family. He alleged that the jail administration is not allowing the meeting despite the orders of the High Court and he fears that the situation has become very serious.

The report of the district intelligence committee has indicated that some groups may try to take the protests to sensitive locations belonging to the army. After this warning, the government has clarified that Section 144 is necessary to prevent any untoward situation and maintain public safety. Imran Khan, who made Pakistan the champion in the Cricket World Cup 1992, later became the Prime Minister and remained in power from 2018 to 2022. In the barrack, there is a single bed for Imran Khan to sleep with an attached washroom, there is a wash basin near him for washing hands. Also, in this small barrack, there is a provision of cooler, TV along with 1 chair and 2 tables for Imran Khan.

Pakistan government had given information in the Supreme Court
Apart from this, there is also an exclusive gallery for Imran Khan in the jail where he is allowed to walk twice a day and there is also a small kitchen for Imran Khan alone in which food is prepared as per his wish. On June 6 last year, the government of Pakistan had shared pictures in the Supreme Court and given details of the facilities provided to Imran Khan, according to which Imran Khan has been given books to read in jail and there is also a bookshelf in the small room where Imran Khan lives.

Imran Khan is no longer being allowed to meet his sisters
Imran Khan has also been given an exercise bike and stretching belt for exercising in jail, so that Imran Khan remains healthy. Imran Khan, lodged in Adiala jail since August 2023, was allowed to meet his sisters every week, but for the last 4 weeks, Imran Khan has been suddenly stopped from meeting his sisters or other family members.

A big reason for this is that Imran Khan used to give his message to his supporters in Pakistan through sisters and was continuously criticizing Asim Munir after he became Field Marshal. Air Force Medal was received for bravery in 1965

In 1963, within two years of the commissioned of the Indian Air Force, Parulkar entered and attacked Pakistan in 1965, when Parulkar was in the post of flying officer in the Air Force. He was posted at Halwara Hawaii Base in Ludhiana, Punjab. In September 1965, Parulkar along with three of his colleagues went inside Pakistan and attacked Sargodha Hawaii Base.

However, Parulkar became a victim of a Pakistani bullet during his return. A bullet of the anti-aircraft gun on the tanks of the Pakistani army ripped Parul’s aircraft into his left shoulder and then came out of the cockpit. But without losing his courage, Parulkar took over his aircraft with one hand and also made a deadly landing in India. He was also awarded the Air Force Medal next year for this bravery.

Caristers were built in the war of 1971

At the same time, in 1971, Wing Commander Parulkar once again showed his brave. Parulkar entered East Pakistan on December 10, 1971 from Sukhoi-Saber Fighter Jet and fired bullets on the tanks of the enemy Pakistani army, but Parulkar’s aircraft was damaged in a counter-attack and he ejected from the jet and made a prisoner in East Pakistan. However, after the surrender of the Pakistani Army, on December 25, 1971, all the prisoners of India were allowed to meet each other. During this, Parulkar’s meeting IAF flight Lieutenant M.S. Grewal and flight were from Lieutenant Harish Singhji. Parulkar, along with the two IAF officers, planned to flee Rawalpindi jail.

Wing Commander DK Parulkar carried out his plan on August 12, 1972 with his colleagues after eight months of the warfare and escaped from Rawalpindi Jail through a tunnel. Together, the three had prepared a tunnel from outside the jail, due to which he successfully came out of jail. After absconding from jail, the three moved towards the border of Afghanistan, but the three miles from the Afghanistan border fell from a tehsildar and during the interrogation of the Tehsildar, he had to go to jail again due to his mistake.

This time he was imprisoned in Layalpur Jail in Faisalabad instead of Rawalpindi Jail, where more than 600 Indian warfare was imprisoned. On November 24, 1972, Wazir-e-Azam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto of Pakistan announced the release of all the prisoners. A week after the announcement of Bhutto, all other Indian prisoners along with Wing Commander DK Parulkar were released and sent back through the Attari-Bagha border.

Several earthquake tremors were felt in many parts of Pakistan on Sunday (August 3, 2025). According to Pakistan’s National Sismic Monitoring Center (NSMC), the intensity of this earthquake was measured 5.1. The earthquake was 15 km south-east of Rawat and its depth was just 10 kilometers.

Shocks from Afghanistan to Tajikistan

According to the ‘Ary News’ report, people stayed under the open sky till late night, as they feared afterchox (the earthquake tremors). On Saturday, there was a 5.4 magnitude earthquake, the center of which was in the Hindukush mountainous region of Afghanistan. NSMC reported that the tremors of this earthquake were felt in many parts of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

Earthquake tremors were felt in Peshawar, Swat, Malakand, Naushera, Charsad, Karak, Dir, Mardan, Mohammed, Shangla, Hungu, Swabi, Haripur and Abbottabad on Saturday at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Apart from this, these tremors were also felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Attok, Texila, Murri, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sheikhupura, Ferozwala and Muridke.

So far there has been no news of loss of life and property from both earthquakes. However, there is an atmosphere of fear among the people and they are cautious with any possible afterchock.
