In 2016 and 2025, the team stood second in the points table. In 2016 also, the team reached the finals, but lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad. In 2025 also the team reached the finals, but this time they ended their trophy drought. The team won its first IPL title after 18 years by defeating Punjab Kings.
