NEET UG 2026: If you have given NEET UG 2026 re-exam then today is a very important day for you. National Testing Agency (NTA) had given the facility to lodge objections on the provisional answer key, the last date of which is June 28. Candidates can register their objection till 11:50 pm tonight. No objection of any kind will be accepted after the stipulated time.

If you have any objection to any question or its answer, then visit the official website in time and register your objection. After this NTA will examine all the objections and then the final answer key will be released. The result will be declared on the basis of this final answer key. So let us know when the final answer key and result will be released.

File your objection like this

Candidates who appeared in the re-exam can visit the official NEET portal and submit their objections with the help of their application number and login details. For filing objection on each question, fixed non-refundable processing fee will have to be deposited. Besides, candidates will also have to provide relevant educational proof or references in support of their claim. NTA has made it clear that any objection sent without depositing fees or after the stipulated time limit will not be considered.

You will get an idea of your score from the provisional answer key.

After the release of the provisional answer key, candidates can estimate their probable marks. However, the final marks will be decided only on the basis of the final answer key. If any question or answer is changed during the scrutiny of objections, its effect will be equally applicable to all the candidates.

When will the final answer key be released?

After the closure of the objection window, all the objections received by NTA will be examined by a team of subject experts. If any candidate’s objection is found correct, the concerned answer will be amended. After this the final answer key will be released. NTA has made it clear that after the release of the final answer key, no new objection will be accepted on it.

Result will come after final answer key

NTA has said that the result of NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be prepared on the basis of final answer key. After the release of the result, candidates will be able to download the scorecard with the help of their application number and password by visiting the official website. Candidates will get many important information in the scorecard received after the release of the result, which includes full marks, percentile score, All India Rank (AIR), category rank and qualifying status. Along with this, NTA will also release category wise cut-off marks and merit list.

Counseling will start after the result

After the declaration of results, the process of admission in medical colleges will start. Counseling for 15 percent All India Quota seats will be conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). Whereas admission on 85 percent state quota seats will be done through the counseling authority of the respective state. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the official website of NEET for all updates related to final answer key, result and counselling.

These days a notice is going viral on social media regarding NEET UG 2026 re-exam. It is being claimed in this notice that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has made a major change in the examination pattern for re-exam. But NTA has called this claim completely fake and has advised students to be careful of such misleading information.

The date of 27 May 2026 is mentioned on the letter going viral. It has been claimed that this is a confidential document, which has been issued to the exam preparation and moderation panel of NTA. It has been said in the letter that the question paper of NEET re-exam will be completely different from all the previous question papers and study material.

At the same time, PIB Fact Check has also clarified that no such circular or notice has been issued regarding NEET UG 2026 re-exam. The agency issued a post on social media saying that the viral document is completely fake and candidates should not believe it. Students have also been appealed not to spread such rumors and get information only from official sources.

What did NTA say?

NTA has also clarified that any kind of official information regarding NEET UG exam is released only through its official website. Therefore, students should not trust any viral message or unconfirmed information.

What will be the exam pattern?

Talking about the exam pattern, the pattern of NEET UG 2026 will remain the same as previous years. The examination will include three subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In Biology section, questions will be asked from both the subjects Zoology and Botany.

Also read – SSC CGL 2026: Recruitment for the post of Income Tax Inspector, salary up to 1.51 lakh, big opportunity for graduates.

This year there will be a total of 180 questions in NEET UG exam. Of these, 45 questions will be asked from Physics, 45 from Chemistry and 90 from Biology. The optional Section-B, introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic, has now been completely abolished. Earlier there were a total of 200 questions in the exam, but now this number has been reduced to 180.

The duration of the examination has also been changed. Earlier, students were given 3 hours 20 minutes i.e. 200 minutes to solve the question paper. Now the duration of the examination has been reduced to 180 minutes i.e. 3 hours.

There has been no change in the marking scheme. For each correct answer the candidate will be given 4 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. If any question is omitted then no marks will be deducted for it. Whereas, if more than one answer is marked on the OMR sheet for a question, it will be considered wrong and 1 mark will be deducted.
