Many people wake up again and again due to thirst at night. Often it is considered a normal habit, but if this habit persists continuously, a signal of a serious illness can also be there. Let us know which diseases are the connection of repeated thirst at night?

What is the reason for repeated thirst at night?

Many people feel thirsty again and again at night. Because of this, they feel the need to wake up from sleep and drink water. In the medical term, this condition is called nocturia (frequent urination at night) or polyidipsia (excessive thirst), which is not considered normal. According to Dr. Praveen Gupta at Narayana Multispeciality Hospital in Jaipur, the need to get thirst and drink water at night may usually be a signal of dehydration, diabetes or kidney related problems. If this habit persists for a long time, then it should not be ignored.

These diseases may be in danger

According to a study published in the National Library of Medicine, the connection of repeated thirst and drinking water at night can be caused by many diseases. Let us tell you the reasons.

Diabetes Mellitus: Type 2 diabetes can be due to excessive thirst at night. Actually, when the blood sugar level increases, our extra tries to take out glucose out of urine. Due to this, frequent urination comes and due to dehydration, there is frequent thirst.

Diabetes Insipidus: When our kidney fails to make water balance in the body, it is considered a symptom of a rare disease called diabetes insipidus. Because of this, there is repeated thirst and repeated urination. This problem is due to the deficiency of hormonal disabilities, especially anti-diuretic hormone (ADH).

Kidney problems: The balance of water and electrolytes in the body may deteriorate when chronic kidney disease occurs. Because of this, there is frequent thirst at night. If your sleep is also breaking due to thirst and urination at night, then there is a need to get a kidney examined.

Sleep apnea: Sleep apnea disease has a problem of breathing during sleep. Due to this, there may be a problem of drying mouth and thirst again and again. Its connection is also caused by snoring and repeated waking up at night.
