Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said on Monday (October 6) that the world is going through a period of major changes and rising competition at this time. He warned that ‘everything used as a weapon’ is increasing ‘and at such a time India will have to move forward by strengthening its strategy. Emphasizing the ‘Nebarhood First’ policy, he said that India will have to become a ‘go-to option’ in this entire subcontinent in case of any crisis.

Increasing instability and competition in the world
Jaishankar said that today the spirit against globalization is increasing in many societies of the world. Older equations of business are changing due to the instability of tariffs. He indirectly made this statement indicating US President Donald Trump’s ‘America First’ policy. The US has recently imposed many big tariffs on India, which has increased trade tension between the two countries.

India will have to become a reliable option in crisis
Jaishankar said, India will have to become the most trusted option in this subcontinent in the event of any crisis. He said that India would have to be a part of a large strategic block to maintain global balance. He described the current time as a period of making weapons.

Instability in neighboring countries, challenge before India
He said that India’s neighborhood is in a very critical state at this time. Relationships with Pakistan are constantly tense, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal have also seen political instability and protests in recent months. Jaishankar said that in such an environment, India will have to move forward keeping its policies strong.

Agreement with America, but no compromise on ‘red line’
Jaishankar bluntly said that India will make any business agreement with the US only when its ‘Red Lines’ ie Agriculture and Dairy sector is not allowed without any restriction of foreign goods. He said that the strategic loss that India had suffered from partition will now have to be filled.

India’s strategy for 2047
Speaking at the Aravali Summit organized on the subject of ‘India and the World Order: Preparaing for 2047’ at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jaishankar said that India’s growth strength is demand, population and data. He said that we have to prepare our ideas, vocabulary and native for the 2047 journey so that India can play a leading role in the global system.

Abraham Accord: The Abraham Agreement, which normalized relations between Israel and many Arab countries, is now in crisis. The agreement was reached in September 2020, in the first term of US President Donald Trump. Under this, many Arab countries including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) normalized relations with Israel.

The UAE has now warned that if Israel occupies the West Bank, it will damage the agreement and the expectations of President Trump may weaken.

Israeli’s plan to capture West Bank

The UAE warning has come at a time when Israel is considering a plan to occupy a large part of Palestine’s West Bank. This is considered to be the answer to the steps of Western countries that recognize Palestinian regions. Only US President Trump can do so that this move can be stopped. The message of UAE is clear that if the US does not stop Israel, then the important efforts of the Trump administration’s foreign policy may face a crisis.

UAE describes West Bank as red line

The UAE has already warned Israel that capturing the West Bank will have to cross the ‘Red Line’. UAE says that this will weaken the spirit of Abraham Agreement. A senior Amirati officer described it as a threat to two state solutions. The Palestinian Authority has welcomed the UAE’s stance, while the Israeli government has not yet made any official comments. In the government of Prime Minister Netanyahu, right -wing Finance Minister Bejelle Smotrich recently proposed to capture about four to five parts of the West Bank.

Since the six -day war of 1967, Israel has settled around 160 settlements in West Bank and Eastern Jerusalem, in which about 7 lakh Jews live. At the same time, 33 lakh Palestinians live in these settlements and surrounding areas. These settlements are considered illegal under international law, and Palestinians want it for an independent nation in the future.
