The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Wednesday (November 26, 2025) has taken a big step regarding the Aadhaar card. UIDAI has deactivated the Aadhar card numbers of more than 2 crore people across the country. However, let us also tell you that UIDAI has deactivated the Aadhaar numbers of those people who are no longer in this world i.e. those who have died.

Actually, the authority has taken this big step as part of the campaign being run across the country to continuously update the Aadhaar database and to prevent any kind of misuse of Aadhaar numbers of dead people. UIDAI has undertaken this important task based on information received from sources such as Data Registrar General of India (RGI), States and Union Territories, Public Distribution System (PDS), National Social Assistance Program (NSAP). Apart from this, UIDAI is also working towards collaborating with banks and other financial institutions to get the information of the deceased people.

UIDAI Launched new facility as early as 2025

,@UIDAI deactivates over 2 Crore Aadhaar numbers of deceased individuals

UIDAI sourcing data from Registrar General of India, States, various central govt departments for the initiative

Family members may also report the death of kin via myAadhaar portal

Read here:…

— PIB India (@PIB_India) November 26, 2025

At the same time, the authority also said that UIDAI has started a new facility on My Aadhaar portal with the beginning of this year, through which family members themselves can give information regarding any of their deceased relatives. This step will prove helpful in updating the Aadhaar database completely and quickly. However, this facility is currently available in 25 states and union territories of the country that use the Civil Registration System (CRS). Apart from this, the process of connecting the remaining states and union territories to this portal is going on.

Why was this step taken?,

UIDAI said that the Aadhaar number of any person is not re-issued in the name of any other person. However, it is very important to deactivate the Aadhaar number after the death of any person, so that any kind of fraud using the identity of the concerned person or misuse of that Aadhaar number for benefiting any public welfare schemes can be prevented.

UIDAI What did he request the countrymen?,

UIDAI has requested people across the country to obtain the death certificate after the death of a family member and inform it on the myAadhaar portal, so that the records can be updated and any kind of misuse can be prevented.

Covid-19 death toll in india: During the corona epidemic in India, a big game was done on the deaths of deaths. A report revealed has revealed that the data related to the Korona epidemic was hidden in all the states of the country and the number of deaths during this period was reduced and presented. The second wave of Korona i.e. 2021, 3,32,468 deaths were presented across the country, but the report released by the Civil Registration System (CRS) is shocking. According to the data, there were about 6 times more deaths in 2021, during which 19,73,947 deaths occurred across the country.

This report shows that in every state of the country, the number of deaths during Corona was reduced and introduced. Large states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, West Bengal are involved in hiding the death statistics. In such a situation, let us know that the most false and wrong figures were presented in which state of the country on the deaths due to Corona.

Gujarat leads in hiding death statistics

According to data submitted by the Civil Registration System (CRS), Gujarat was at the forefront of hiding the figures of Korona deaths in 2021. Gujarat had presented the figure of about 6 thousand deaths in Gujarat this year, but actually 33.6 times more deaths were recorded. According to data presented by the Gujarat government, 5809 deaths were recorded in 2021, but the report now said that in 2021 there were 1,95,406 deaths in Gujarat.

Statistics hidden in these states also

During the Kovid, not only Gujarat but many states were ahead in hiding the death toll. After Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh remained second in this case. The figure of 6927 deaths was introduced in Madhya Pradesh, while actually there were 1,26,774 deaths here. Similarly, 10,052 deaths were revealed in West Bengal, while 1,52,094 deaths were recorded here. In Bihar too, 10,699 deaths were claimed, but there were 1,35,391 deaths here. 14,563 deaths were claimed in Uttar Pradesh, but there were 1,03,108 deaths here.
