Mukesh ambani vision for jio: Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, which was included in the list of world veteran business and rich industrialists, said that investing in such a big scale in Jio in telecom sector was the biggest risk of his career. He said that at that time many big market experts were suspicious of being successful. At that time India is not ready for such advanced digital technology.

He further said that even if the investment in Jio is not able to give the expected benefits for some reason, it would have been considered a big step towards making India digital.

The biggest risk was investment in Jio

In an interview to McKinzi & Co., Ambani revealed that the decision to invest in Reliance Jio was not easy. He said that at that time we were investing our own money and I was a majority shareholder myself. We took big risks because the scale matters a lot to us and the goals were also high.

Recalling his father Dhirubhai Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries said, “My father used to say- Reliance is a process. This is an institution that should run even after us. I want Reliance to remain alive after us. In 2027, Reliance will celebrate his golden jubilee in 2027, my dream is that Reliance is serving India and humanity for 100 years.”

Will have to be innovator

Mukesh Ambani, referring to future plans, said that he often used to say that we would not only have to be a user of technology, we have to become an innovator. Reliance is moving towards becoming a deep-tech and advanced construction company today. He said that we have started it from telecommunications.

Talking further on 5G technology, the legendary industrialist said that the entire structure of Jio’s 5G technology has been fully developed. He said that core, hardware, software- every component has created itself. Only 20% part included Ericsson and Nokia, so that we could tighten the global standard criteria of our system. Mukesh Ambani said that he told his team that you have to be better than them and they showed it, today we are really better than them.
