Vastu Tips for 2026: The new year brings new hopes and new beginnings for everyone. People want that the entire year should be filled with happiness, peace and prosperity like the first day of the year.

For this it is not necessary to perform big rituals. Prosperity can be brought to the house by adopting some easy measures mentioned in Vaastu and religious traditions. This keeps you full of energy throughout the year. Let us know five simple solutions-
Wake up in Brahma Muhurta, remember God

Waking up in Brahma Muhurta on the first day of the new year is considered auspicious. Remember God as soon as you wake up. Make a resolution in your mind for the last year. After this, take bath and wear clean clothes. It is considered good to mix a little Ganga water in bathing water.

This purifies both mind and body. After bathing, clean the temple or place of worship at home. Light a lamp and offer water to Lord Sun. Offering Arghya to the Sun increases self-confidence, health and positive energy. This is a simple way to give an auspicious start to the day.

Keep the door clean, do not keep dirty shoes and slippers.

Cleaning the house has special importance on New Year. After morning puja, sprinkle Ganga water in the entire house. Due to this the environment of the house is considered pure. Pay special attention to the main door. Keep the door clean and do not keep dirty shoes and slippers there.

Keep a vessel of any metal near the main door and fill it with water and leave it there for the whole day. According to Vastu Shastra, this remedy attracts positive energy in the house. If you want, you can also put a bandanwar on the door.

Keep distance from old and damaged goods

Before or on the very first day of the New Year, bad and useless items kept in the house should be thrown out. Either get the stopped clock repaired or remove it from the house. According to Vastu, a bad clock causes hindrance in work.

If there is broken glass or mirror kept in the house, then remove it also. It causes negative energy. Keeping the house light and organized on New Year is considered a good sign for the times to come.

Increase auspiciousness with plants and worship

It is considered good to plant new plants on the occasion of New Year, but avoid thorny plants. Do not plant plants like cactus or rose on this day. Plants like Tulsi or money plant are believed to bring positive energy to the house. Worship Lord Ganesha, Lakshmi and Vishnu in the morning. This time there is Pradosh Vrat on New Year, hence worship of Lord Shiva also has special significance. Do worship Lord Ganesha on this day.

Start the year well with determination and donations

Make a small resolution on the first day of the new year. Like doing regular worship, following the path of truth or giving up any bad habit. It is believed that the resolution taken on the first day of the year has an impact throughout the year. Donate food, clothes or money to the needy in the afternoon. By donating, planetary defects are pacified and happiness and prosperity remain in the house. Taking blessings of an elderly or poor person is also considered very fruitful.

Pew Research Report on Indian Woman Covering Head: Publicly covering heads is a common practice for women in India, which is affected by religious and cultural beliefs. According to the 2019-2020 Pu Research Center survey, about 61 percent of women in India follow the tradition of covering their heads outside their homes.

The form of this practice varies according to different religious groups, regions and social backgrounds. For example, Muslim women have the highest head -looking rate (89 per cent), while this practice is quite common among Hindu (59 per cent) and Sikh (86 per cent) women.

Tendency
Religious identity in India deeply affects the tradition of covering the head. 89 percent of Muslim women cover their heads in public places. It is associated with the tradition of wearing hijab, burqa or dupatta among those who believe in Islam. Muslim women adopt this practice in every region of the country. On the other hand, 59 percent of Hindu women publicly cover their heads. This practice is particularly more prevalent in North India. Traditionally, Hindu women covers their heads with a sari pallu or dupatta.

North vs south state
In India, the practice of covering heads in women is also seen separately on regional basis. About 90 percent of women in states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan publicly cover their heads. This practice is almost equally prevalent among Muslims (85 percent) and Hindu (82 percent) women in North India. On the other hand, the practice of covering heads in the states of South is less. Only 16 percent of women in Tamil Nadu cover their heads. This percentage is low in Kerala (17 per cent), Andhra Pradesh (26 per cent) and Telangana (29 per cent).

Big difference between Muslim and Hindu women in south states
There is a big difference between Muslim and Hindu women living in the states in the south, where 83 percent of Muslim women cover their heads. At the same time, only 22 percent of Hindu women follow this practice. 44 percent of women in Karnataka cover their heads. Here 71 percent Muslim and 42 percent Hindu women follow this tradition.
