Dairy product: Hotels and restaurants may soon have to tell which dishes they serve customers...

Dairy product: Hotels and restaurants may soon have to tell which dishes they serve customers use cheese prepared from non-dairy products instead of cheese made from milk. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs is considering issuing guidelines in this regard. A top government official gave this information on Monday.

What is analog cheese?

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has already made analog cheese as a ‘non-day’ to prevent consumers from cheating consumers. However, these rules are not currently applied to the prepared food served in the restaurant.

According to FSSAI rules, analog cheese is a product in which milk components are either completely or partially replaced by non-degree content, although the final product looks similar to the traditional dairy-based cheese.

Fake cheese is given in hotels and restaurants

Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare told PTI-language, “Analog is like a traditional cheese in appearance and taste, but it is not cheese. Analog Paneer is cheaper. Why do hotels and restaurants do not tell consumers about it. ”Khare said that establishments should clearly explain to customers whether the dishes have traditional cheese or a pani (analog) made of non-dairy products is cheese and accordingly they should decide their price.

What is the difference between analog cheese and milk cheese?

He said, “Paneer made of non-dairy products like vegetable oil in the name of traditional cheese should not be sold.” Paneer made of non-dairy products has become quite popular, as its price is about half of the cheese made from milk, while its taste and texture is the same. Traditional cheese is made by adding lemon juice or vinegar to fresh milk, while analog cheese is usually made of emulsifier, starch and vegetable oil.
