Congress on Saturday said that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s continuation in the post reflects his shameless lust for power, regarding alleged irregularities related to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on-screen marking system.

Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh said that Minister Pradhan has been exposed as an arrogant and incompetent person running a compromised ministry. Citing a news, Ramesh posted on ‘X’, ‘The secrets of the Education Ministry are coming to light one after the other. Today, we learned that the contractor submitted two cyber security certificates to CBSE to meet the cyber security requirements of the tender.

Questions on cyber security flaws

Now the news is that both these certificates were linked to other customers. One of them had expired and the other was audited as a temporary application. He claimed that instead of exposing this fraud, CBSE awarded the contract to Compet at inflated rates. He says, ‘As we now know, Gen-G ethical hackers had exposed serious flaws in cyber security as early as February 2025, which CBSE denied until it was unable to do so…’

Sharp attack on Dharmendra Pradhan

Jairam Ramesh said, ‘If Pradhan’s ministry had shown more sincerity in carrying out the CBSE examinations, the On Screen Marking (OSM) system and the revaluation process properly, we could have avoided this bad situation which has put lakhs of students and their families under stress.’ He said, ‘Minister Pradhan’s continuation in office only reflects his shameless desire for power. He has been completely exposed as an arrogant and incompetent person running a completely compromised ministry.

CBSE Re-evaluation 2026: After the declaration of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2026 results, lakhs of students are worried about their marks. Many students believe that they have not got the marks as per their expectation, hence they want to get their answer sheet checked. For this reason, a large number of students have applied to see the scanned copy of their copies and verification of marks.

The board had announced to start the re-evaluation and verification process from June 1, but the CBSE portal remained visible in maintenance mode throughout the day. This increased the concern of students and parents. Meanwhile, CBSE has made it clear that the portal will be launched soon and students should not pay attention to any kind of rumour.

What did CBSE say?

In a statement issued by CBSE on social media platform X, it has been said that the verification and re-evaluation portal will be made live soon. The board has said that the official announcement will also be released soon. According to the board, at present some technical work and final preparations related to the payment system are being done on the portal. As soon as these processes are completed, the application window will be opened for the students.

Why is there a delay?

According to the information, CBSE wants to avoid any technical problem this time. In the last few days, answer sheet related services have been used by lakhs of students, due to which there is a lot of pressure on the portal. The board says that before starting the application process, it wants to ensure that the website works smoothly and students do not face any problem in payment or application. For this reason, final technical tests are being conducted.

Who can apply for re-valuation?

Students who are not happy with their marks can first download their scanned answer sheet. After this they can check whether all the answers have been checked or not and whether the marks have been added correctly or not. If any answer has not been checked or any mistake is seen in awarding marks, then students can apply for verification and re-valuation. However, CBSE has made it clear that after re-valuation, the marks may increase, decrease or may remain the same. The marks released after re-valuation will be considered final.

How to apply for re-valuation

1. CBSE official website cbse.gov.in Go to and open the revaluation link.

2. Enter roll number, school number, admit card ID and other important information. Also select the subject for which you want to see the answer sheet.

3. Now deposit the prescribed fees through online mode.

4. After this, download the scanned copy and check it carefully.

5. If any mistake is noticed then submit the application within the stipulated time limit.

The growing resentment among students over CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) evaluation system has now reached the streets. On Saturday, the National Students Union of India (NSUI) protested outside the CBSE headquarters in Delhi, demanding to ensure transparency and accountability in the evaluation process. The organization says that due to alleged irregularities in the evaluation, many students have got less marks than expected, which has increased concerns about their future.

Demonstration outside CBSE headquarters regarding students’ complaints

A large number of students and NSUI workers participated in this demonstration organized outside the CBSE headquarters in Patparganj, Delhi. The protesters alleged that there are many shortcomings in the current OSM evaluation system due to which students are not getting marks as per their performance. During this, the students demanded accountability from the board and immediate action on their complaints.

Increased concern among students and parents regarding results

The students involved in the protest said that many candidates had performed well in the examination, but the results declared were not as per their expectations. This has created a situation of confusion and dissatisfaction among the students as well as the parents. The students believe that there is a need to make the evaluation process more transparent and reliable.

Demand to implement fair revaluation system

NSUI demanded that an independent and impartial inquiry be conducted into the evaluation process. The organization says that if errors have been committed at any level, then they should be identified and accountability of those responsible should be fixed. Also, an effective and transparent revaluation system should be implemented to provide justice to the students.

Protestors put forward many important demands

During the protest, students and organization representatives put forward demands like review of the OSM system, fixing accountability for evaluation errors, making the revaluation process simple and transparent and ensuring protection of students’ mental health and academic interests. They said that maintaining the faith of students in the education system is most important.

NSUI claimed to continue fighting for the interests of students

Addressing the gathering, the NSUI leadership said that behind every answer sheet are years of hard work of the students and expectations of the families. In such a situation, any kind of negligence in the evaluation process cannot be accepted. The organization said that it stands with the affected students and will continue to raise its voice till their problems are resolved.

If reforms are not made then the movement will take a national form

NSUI warned that if the demands of the students are not taken seriously and necessary reforms are not made in the evaluation process, then the movement will be carried out on a wider scale across the country. The organization says that the interests of the students cannot be compromised on any issue related to education and it is the responsibility of the concerned institutions to ensure fair evaluation.
